Delta 30k bonus

With my Marriott stays averaging under $100 per, it's tempting to switch my Marriott preference to miles and grab over 10k Deltas to round up some orphaned miles....Is this targeted? Maybe I should wander over to the Delta forum first and see how devalued these SkyMiles really are....

Does that combine the Megabonus for Fall 2011 with VISA reservations? If so, then it's a really nice deal.

No,
It is either.
This is the megabonus for miles.
If you change your preference to miles this will show up and you can enroll.
(Not just for delta, but any airline)

Also, note that this is stay based vs night based.

What rthib states is correct, but note that it is possible to get both promos, just not at the same time.

Marriott allows you to switch between earning miles or points pretty much any time you want. So it is possible to get your nights/stays while earning points and once you have maxed your points bonus, you could switch to earning miles and then max your Delta bonus. (Of course this assumes you would have the necessary nights/stays within each of the bonus time frames, but it is possible.

Also, the miles starts before the points, so do miles until 15, switch to points, then top off miles at the end.

Miles first, then points, how about that?

To switch the points before the miles promotion is done, how about you earn 17 stays to make sure it's under 25 nights to qualify for the VISA Megabonus? If you do the math, 17 stays should give you 30k miles, and if it's also within Sept 15 and Jan 15 Megabonus point promotion, you should have the stay/night count in the point promotion as well, but not getting the basic/Elite bonus points for the first 17 stays. Once you get 17 stays done, switch it right back to points, and finish the 25 nights. Assuming you have only a night per stay, you should just need eight more nights to finish the VISA Megabonus. I heard Marriott counted the mile/point megabonus that way before. In other words, if you want miles, then you will get miles for the specific airline, but you should still have the EQN posted to your account, thus just the 'count' for the Point VISA megabonus promotion. Anybody who has tried to combine it, please let me know if I am correct.

A very interesting assertion. I would also be interested to find out if this would work or not. If so, then it might be possible to work on both promotions at the same time. Though I have to admit I am a little bit of a sceptic on it actually working, but I'm definitely willing to be proven wrong.
