I heard Marriott counted the mile/point megabonus that way before. In other words, if you want miles, then you will get miles for the specific airline, but you should still have the EQN posted to your account, thus just the 'count' for the Point VISA megabonus promotion. A very interesting assertion. I would also be interested to find out if this would work or not. If so, then it might be possible to work on both promotions at the same time. Though I have to admit I am a little bit of a sceptic on it actually working, but I'm definitely willing to be proven wrong.
