Slingbox? Orb? ATT? VZW?

We're still struggling to get takeup for digital TV!

To return OT however, in Europe Marriotts seem to have fairly good TV options, although I rarely do little more than channel-hop for a few mins as I get into bed.

Then again, for us Brits, anything more than 4 choices is good, and better than 5 is next to unheard of... unless you have DigitalThingy, CableWotsit or SkyPayalot
www.slingbox.com - a device which will allow you to watch your TV over any internet connection

www.att.com AT&T - a communication company offering legacy land line phone service, digital phone service (including internet) wireless communications and digital tv

www.vzw.com Verizon Wireless LP - a communication partnership between Verizon Communication and Vodophone offering wireless communication

Of course many of us are using www.hulu.com today to watch tv as well

I

And, not to forget www.orb.com - free software which is designed to accomplish much the same thing as Slingbox, as long as the host computer is running with a television tuner. In other words, watch you local tv stations and cable stations, and any media located on your home computer, from anywhere in the world.

Ugh, been staying at a suburban Chicago full-service for a year now, and have watched their TV choices decline as well. Replacing the National Geographic channel with Russia Today and the Japanese channel? ...?

Ah, the good ol' days of Animal Planet and HGTV - how I miss you so...

I wish Slingbox was a feasible option for me, but the Courtyard I've been staying in has such crippled internet speeds due to the number of people on it, that it's basically useless.

I would encourage you to provide feedback on the internet speed by either completing the guest survey (if you're selected) or by contacting MI directly (you can do this on marriott.com)....while it's possible the system has a temp issue it's also possible that it doesn't and while their are vendors monitoring usage perhaps they have missed something

Ouch, so much technology for us Brits not to use.

Now going home to my choice of 5 channels, plus any number after 5 which displays a snowy picture showing echoes of the birth of our universe (according to eggheads who watch way too many bad TV signals). Does it really get any better???

Way ahead of you I submitted feedback last week on the hotel. The main reason for the internet being slow is because it's high tourist season in Orlando, and so it's hard to come by decent internet speeds, let alone hot water during certain hours.

good to know but tourist season is quite long so the hotel should be made aware of the situation so they can correct it
