TV Channels

I know there has been a thread on this, but can't seem to find it. Wednesday night in a Courtyard and no Discovery Channel. Three out of the last four Marriotts have not had it. I need my Mythbusters. BTW, four espns and one fox sports on tap.

Two weeks ago at the Six Flags CY near Atlanta with four kids and no NICK or Cartoon Network. How much sense does that make?

Get a Slingbox you'll never be at the mercy of the hotel for TV channel selection again. http://www.slingbox.com/go/slingbox-solo

Under $200 at a retailer near you.

Or, if you prefer free, and if your p.c. has a t.v. tuner, download free Orb software. http://www.orb.com/en

personally I dont recall having an issue in any hotel, nor at any Pres Clubs...only at a few SkyClubs...it typically works well via vzw too

Love Slingbox, but IME, it's not worth a (doggone) at most Marriott-branded properties between 8-11pm or thereabouts. Some exceptions, to be sure.

As another poster pointed out, VZW means never having to depend on the hotel WiFi. I had VZW, the company switched me to AT&T, but now I'm back on VZW. The AT&T service stinks, but the VZW works very well.

My rant is that the Marriott I frequent uses the same channel as the Food network for their "hotel channel". I have no trouble with Slingbox, which is also worthwhile from international locations. I've also slingboxed with GoGo as well.

OK, now all you colonials are getting too technical for the "mother country"

Slingbox? Orb? ATT? VZW?

We're still struggling to get takeup for digital TV!

To return OT however, in Europe Marriotts seem to have fairly good TV options, although I rarely do little more than channel-hop for a few mins as I get into bed.

Then again, for us Brits, anything more than 4 choices is good, and better than 5 is next to unheard of... unless you have DigitalThingy, CableWotsit or SkyPayalot
