Same response today....not with LNF rate. And for some reason the other one is not working, either. I've PM'd Marriott Concierge for help.

Are you having a general EEO BOGO problem or just with that specific hotel?

I think it was a general problem as I was having it with two hotel stays during that period. I called the Platinum line again before I heard back from Marriott Concierge and they were able to note the EEO in my record. (I have a feeling the others weren't just noting the EEO, but were trying to apply some type of code.) Marriott Concierge indicated it was his understanding EEO was allowed with LNF rates...but that only one use of the same EEO per period was allowed. I got a friend to help me out for the 2nd stay.
I guess the FT maxim of "call back" fits the bill again.

Since no one has answered this question specifically, and I know I hate it when I don't know what some of the abbreviations or acronyms mean in general, but sometimes even when the meaning is given, it can be frustrating because the ACTUAL DEFINITION is not, which is the case here.

EEO = Elite Exclusive Offer(s).

IMHO this is one of the best perks of being Au or Pt - surprising that some of the elites weren't familiar with it.

Then again, Marriott used to mail us nice paper coupon books several times a year which was harder to miss. But for some reason they couldn't seem to mail them out in any sort of a quality manner which is why they went to online coupons.

Just to add to USirritated here, because I'm as bad at acronyms as the best of them here...

EEO's are as USi states, Elite Exclusive Offers which include some pretty uninspiring fare, such as 10% off rates, free ski hire or 1k or 2k extra points per stay. Some seem less than exclusive, such as stay 2 nights, get 3rd night free, which whilst a good offer is frequently available to all anyway, like as now with the global long weekend, so is hardly "exclusive". Other EEO's are more interesting such free meals, 30% or 35% off stays 7 days/week, free BonusBuck vouchers, etc etc. Most EEO's are specific to an individual hotel so this list is not nearly as attractive as it may sound, but if you're out that way...

The main thing we all mean here when talking about EEO's though is the BOGOF - Buy One Get One Free - on hotel nights. Simply book a standard publicly available rate for a weekend and using the EEO voucher tucked away in the Marriott Platinum/Gold offers part of the website you'll get the second night free. It is genuine and easy to do, but has to be done by phone via the Gold/Plat line. Most members agree its one of the major benefits of the scheme, and sets Marriott Rewards apart from the competition.

Indeed, you'll almost always find when EEO's are mentioned that they soley relate to the BOGOF EEO, since its way the most valuable and the certificate is published 3 or 4 times each year. Here on FT, EEO means the elite BOGOF scheme...

For sure that is all true. I was forever forgetting what was in the coupon books, where I put them, and half the time they arrived late, so I maybe used a coupon once or twice per year, at most, and lots of great deals available to me went unredeemed. Now that all this has been pointed out to me, hopefully I will make better use of what is available to me, and so will everyone!
