I think it was a general problem as I was having it with two hotel stays during that period. I called the Platinum line again before I heard back from Marriott Concierge and they were able to note the EEO in my record. (I have a feeling the others weren't just noting the EEO, but were trying to apply some type of code.) Marriott Concierge indicated it was his understanding EEO was allowed with LNF rates...but that only one use of the same EEO per period was allowed. I got a friend to help me out for the 2nd stay.
I guess the FT maxim of "call back" fits the bill again.
