There were some alarmist news pieces out on BBC and Reuters last week saying Bangkok will have no municipal water as supplies in dams are down to 5% and brackish water is to be expected.

The underlying issue is real but the supposed severity and the timing of it are exaggerated. No water supply or quality problems observed in Asoke this week. But issues are plausible in the near future.

How do you regulars book the airport pick up car?
I've sent an email earlier today to
[email protected] and received no reply. Just sent a follow up as well.
Is this the correct address?

Thanks and solved

I did book in time for this rate, but it was not available for my dates.
I did book at 5250 less the 5% for SPG = 4988. I could not find any lower
for my dates there.

Is there Make A Green Choice here for points bonus?

It doesn't appear to be. There's certainly the choice to make a green decision on towels/linens, but not in the typical fashion with promise of bonus points per night.

Also, does anyone have updated Instant Awards menu (if it's still available)? I see the one sticky appears to be older.
If not, I'll ask tomorrow and share with y'all if there is.

You are correct, there's no make a green choice program that will provide you with extra points there as far as I know.

Your room will be cleaned once a day and tidied up (turn-down service) once a day by default. You can have it cleaned as many times as you like. Or even not cleaned if you want that too (leave the dnd sign on).

That may not work, David. On my first trip to Bangkok (2006) I had been traveling for >30 hours by the time I got there. I left the DND light on and slept until around 2 p.m. when they called to see if I was still alive.

OK, just asked the Concierge @ the lobby, then forward me to the Front Desk lady, and they don't know what I'm referring to a SPG Instant Awards list. I even described it as a list to show list of services to redeem SPG points instead of baht. They had no clue. However, she went to ask somebody in the back and said it's done at checkout. Basically, use whatever services, and if we want to use points for anything, it converts to 75 SPG points per USD.

I'd prefer to just have a list like the Instant Awards though... There's even ads around the hotel for some services like the spa that shows baht or points.

So, I can only conclude, the Instant Awards menu sticky is from June 2013 is no longer valid, and the hotel now simply converts at check out. Please anybody correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what the concierge and front desk told me just now. I did not tell them that there used to be an award menu.

I would conclude no such thing. During weekday working hours ask if you can talk to the SPG coordinator at the hotel. Show them the earlier award menu. See if they may then realize what you are talking about.
