Any recent experiences here?
Curious if someone knows of preferable rooms here (for Preferred Plus/Gold upgrade; within room category). I've booked standard room.

I stayed there last month for $190 and thought it was a great deal. I have been here several times now and like this hotel fine. If you go to 9th Avenue and walk uptown there are lots of interesting restaurants.

I agree. It is a great and very well run property. It's one of my new first choices in midtown.

I stayed there beginning this months for four nights and it was great!
I informed the hotel about my stay (2 adults and teens) and got offered a suite for free! The FD manager was very kind throughout. We feared the pull out sofa would not be sufficient for two people so she offered that we could see both the normal (booked) room and suite on arrival.
On arrival we did indeed got the chance to look at both rooms and decided on the suite since it offered much more space than the normal rooms (for NY standards!!!).
Room was clean and modern, bathroom too but had dispensers in the shower.
Pull out sofa broke down twice the first night but maintenance fixed it fast and very friendly.
Hotel offers free (reasonably fast) WiFi for all as well as free computer and printer.
They also had very nice extra's like free bottled water at the Concierge, free cupcakes in the morning and free iced drinks in the afternoon at the reception.
During breakfast hours, complimentary coffee and tea was also available in the lobby.
Only downside to the hotel is that the common area's and elevator were very hot and that the lobby was very small thus crowded at times.
However the free beyond and above amenities and superfriendly service from everyone and especially the proactive FD manager made this hotel great. I was also sure to give the FD manager a Dutch gift as token of appreciation.
I will certainly return if I can.

Stayed there Saturday night on points this time (NYC Marathon made things expensive), another good stay. Parking situation is in flex, though. Called the property on Monday to confirm the garage next door is the one they validate at, got to the garage on Saturday around 11AM and they told us they no longer work with the Four Points. So it cost us $42 instead of $28. Desk confirmed the contract ended as of 10/31, and they now valet at another garage somewhere east of the property.

Other than that, they gave us early check in (11AM), high floor, quiet room, offered late checkout without being asked, got our choice of bedding (not guaranteed on points stays), and very friendly desk service.

Back there again this past Saturday. Called in advance, the garage is on 40th, just across 8th Avenue on the same side of the street. Garage was full, had cones blocking entrance, but told them we were staying at 4 Points and they pulled us right in. Now $35/night to park.

Got early check in again (10:30AM), very friendly at the desk. Handing out cupcakes from a local bakery in little boxes to every guest, didn't hear the reason, but enjoyed the treat.

High floor, quiet room, yadda yadda, we're always pretty happy here.

Browsing through spg.com for a one night stay in Manhattan next fall, and this hotel really jumped out at me given the quoted rate is $2,060 a night or 12,000 points. 17 cpm, not too shabby

Someone fat finger the rate or something else at play?

Depends on the date. What date range?

Fall is NYC busiest hotel time. Lots of corporate events, fall fashion weeks, return to school and UN meetings, to name a few of the bigger events.

I saw it looking for 11/14-11/15. However looks like it is loaded for a number of single night stays throughout October and November at least. Just surprised that it is double the St. Regis...

Can anyone give an update as to what the Platinum breakfast is at this property? There is nothing in the Platinum breakfast master thread on this hotel.

I just called them -- the front desk said that it was a full hot breakfast for Plats.

I'm going to NYC next month and am staying at Sheraton TS as usual, but I'm going to stay on points on the last night so I stay at this 4 Points, the Westin by Grand Central, or remain at the Sheraton. All are 12K points.

I've read horrific reviews of the Westin, which surprises me. This 4 Points hotel seems to be getting really nice reviews in comparison. Because I've been sent to Vegas so much in the last 2 years where we're contracted with M Life, I'm actually having to work for my Plat Status this year. Plus I'm SOOO close to Platinum Lifetime Status.

I'm paying for the 3 nights at Sheraton TS but need to use points for the 4th. Since I need another stay, I booked 4 Points. Now the Westin is offering same amount of points for a stay- rare for a NY Westin.

Does this 4 Points offer upgrades to Plats? It sure sounds nicer than the Westin. I don't understand why they only give 250 points as opposed to 500 points as a Plat Amenity, but the two 4 Points I've stayed at were both nice properties. This one has comparable rates with the Sheraton TS and again, same amount of points to stay here as Westin Grand Central.

The one drawback is the small rooms as I'll have extra luggage with me and need a bath b/c of nerve damage to my leg. Anyone know if the rooms offer tubs and not just showers? I have 3 weeks to change it but after reading the reviews on the Westin Grand Central's own website, I'm more than likely going to stay at this 4 Points.

Any Plat stay recently and get an upgrade? I did see they have suites. It's also nice to read that the staff is kind. I've stayed at almost every NYC property and rudeness is usually the #1 problem. That and tiny rooms. But I guess that's NYC!

Four Points Midtown, New York [Master Thread]

thaliajen...as discussed in this thread the hotel is an all round good choice for the area and people typically chose it based on price (both $ and award) and location. I would not expect anything worth mentioning as an upgrade other than to a higher floor or a slightly larger room layout if available due to the limited number of suites at the property.
