Do you get points and night credit for II stays? I know its booked through a third party, but II is pretty close with MR.

Wow. $65/nt for the Marriott St. Kitt's. That's well below the cost of even an award stay at reasonable point valuations.
I know it's off-peak season but still....wish I had some open time available to take the family for that one. In-laws are on II so getting access wouldn't be too hard... |
Great deal if someone is looking for a tropical vacation this fall.
The risk with these weeks is that they can't be cancelled (the standard 24 hour cancellation policy with II doesn't apply to getaways) or changed to another date. Basically once you book it, it's yours to use. It's a use it or lose it reservation. Also these getaways cannot be rented to a 3rd party. It's a violation of II's terms & conditions of membership to rent out exchanges or getaways. If they catch a member doing this they will revoke the members account with II including voiding all deposits & pending transactions. It's okay to book one of these and put the charges on your credit card. But just don't try to book several and advertise them on ebay or it's possible you or your renters will show up at the hotel and find out you no longer have a reservation. |

It belongs to the name on the getaway. No changes or cancellations. |
Too bad this hotel sucks. It is never full, and I find it to be Marriott's worst property in the Carib.

And although there aren't many Marriotts in the Caribbean to even compare this to (a big beef of mine), this hotel was great, the island is MUCH nicer than Aruba by a long shot, and I still think St. Kitt's is a hidden gem and would prefer to go there than Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, or any of the other overbuilt touristy Caribbean islands. But, to each his own.... and $429 a week is fantastic :) Thanks OP! |

Would it suck less if it were always full? frankly, I'd love it if I were the ONLY guest at every Marriott!

I remember reading 1 of his comments about St. Kitts that the water "wasn't the Caribbean blue like it is in the Caymans" or something like that. Not sure ... he was looking at in St. Kitts, but the water there is beautiful. And his comment about St. Kitts never being sold out makes absolutely no sense at all. |

Yeah, that guy has an agenda.
Anyhow, I don't mind if people disagree with me - that's the whole point of a messageboard like this - we can all share our opinions, etc. Of course you can have a great vacation in St. Kitts - I just found it lacking compared to the other Marriotts in the Carribbean, and I don't like the island of St. Kitts as much as the other islands I've been to (but SKB DOES have monkeys!). Anyhow, to say I have an "agenda" is just ignorant. If anyone does go to St. Kitts, I do recommend spending a day at the Reggae Beach Bar - it was the highlight of the island for me. Also, do a driving trip around the island - you're sure to see monkeys! |

Apparent water color at the same beach can vary from day to day depending on the number and type of suspended particles in the water, whether it is a cloudy or sunny day and the angle of the sun at that particular moment. Across an entire island you are going to see even more variation in apparent water color. Light aqua water is usally found on a sunny day, when the sun is overheard and the bottom is both shallow and sandy.

Yep. And it's funny because Mr. St-Kitts-Sucks doesn't know the ocean at the beach at the Marriott Hotel is actually the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean. |
Anyone know an email for the current general manager? I believe it's Jacques Hamou. Sneaking Mrs. Wiffle to St. Kitts later this month and had a couple of requests. Appreciate any help.

I found this article from February 2012 and seeing as how recent this was, I would guess this is accurate. http://www.travelagentcentral.com/sa...-manager-33808 Other tip I have for you, I have found the following format to be the direct email to the GM at all properties. [email protected] Go to the hotel website and you can get the code. St Kitts is SKBRB (refer to the code in the URL before the name) - so [email protected] https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...-beach-casino/ Good luck! |
