Recent Review, St. Kitts Marriott
My wife and I just completed a Thur-Sun stay the St. Kitts Marriott Resort. We were celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary and it was excellent.
AAward travel took us from DFW - MIA - SKB. About 6 hours flying time. Marriott had a Suite Promotion going on that we took advantage of. We reserved a $169 small suite in one of the garden towers but were nicely upgraded to a Royal Suite on the top floor of the main building. 1000 sq ft, spacious and comfortable and views of both the Atlantic and Carribean. The resort is huge. Very spread out, roomy, with large pools, and a good beach. The seaweed was not a problem while we were there. We swam with a sea turtle the last day we were there. Hotel was maintained to about an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. Most everything was spotless, but there are enough plants and salt water that a bit of rust or blowing leaves/flowers can't be helped. Overall we were very happy with its appearance and the grounds. We had the breakfast buffet at the Calypso restaurant once, and ordered from their "diner" counter twice. Great food and service all three times. Had evening dinner at the La Cucina Italian place on-site; great meal and service. The Antipasta bar was amazing. Had our anniversary dinner at the Blu Seafood restaurant. Again, great meal and service. And ordered small pizzas twice by the pool. They were good. Drinks were surprisingly cheap and bartenders were very quick to take care of you. A sundry shop, gift shop, and duty free shops are all in the hotel. Prices are high for everything except the booze. We went to the casino and it was nice. Not too much cigarette smoke which made us happy. There is a club inside of the casino that was small, but very nice. We enjoyed drinks and live music there. Overall, we had plans to show up, relax, spend quality time together, have fun, and go home. Mission accomplished and this might be a perfect Resort if you have the same plan. Mrs Slpybear is planning on a return visit with the kiddos next year. |
Thanks for the trip report. Much appreciated! Will mention it to some friends of mine.
Cheers. |

My Favorite Caribbean Marriott. Did you take the ferry to NEVIS? Nice island and Botanical Gardens there.
We found a taxi driver we really liked and have saved his card for future use. Next trip will be with our family and we plan on touring/exploring one day at least. The pricing of this property in Oct and Nov is simply fantastic. If you can secure decent airfare or award tix, then its a bargain. |
Me and my husband stayed here last December, absolutely fantastic place to stay. Although it was a bit awkward when we were asked for proof of ID for a discount that our friend used to purchase the room for us...! Even rainstorms on the beach were fantastic :) I'd totally recommend this place to anyone!

Trying to decide whether to stay at the hotel or at the MCV Beach club.
Any difference apart from room size/amenities? |

Any difference apart from room size/amenities? Hotel big plus is that the rooms were just renovated. Hotel does have larger rooms with kitchens also. Can’t go wrong at either. Love it there. |

Staff is great at VC. Nice activities daily for a VC.

Any news on storm damage?

I guess the question I should really ask is the VC room worth 10k points extra per night, since thats whats available atm. Only 2 people, so 2 bedroom seems overkill.
If you have status you probably would get upgrade anyway. The rooms on the 5th floor are 1 bedroom suites. There are suites in the outlying buildings that have kitchens. And luckily they had no damage from storms. |
Considering a stay there in March. I am platinum with Marriott, would i get an option with complimentary breakfast there?
are chances of upgrade high? would you recommand for early 30s couple? Looking to relax and snorkle. Thanks! |

Don't believe you'll get a complimentary breakfast there unless you find a rate with breakfast included. I had a solid upgrade last time I was there. Although I was looking at a possible stay recently and noted that the better rooms were pretty reasonably priced. A great place to relax but don't think there's great snorkeling by the hotel. Take a catamaran snorkeling trip and you'll enjoy. Just do it on a day the cruise ships aren't in town. |
If you want main building ask for a room on 5th floor as they are all 1 bedroom suite.
Other 1 bedroom upgrades In the other buildings can have a kitchen. And yes, IMO you should have a good chance. Enjoy. Very relaxing laid back place. Just noticed I repeated myself from an earlier post I made. |
There are two Marriott side by side: St Kitts Marriott Resort and Marriott's St Kitts Beach Club. Are they same development marketed as two resorts? Do they share facilities?
|
St Kitts Marriott Resort is a Marriott hotel, Marriott's St Kitts Beach Club is the MVC timeshare. they are co-located on the same site and share facilities. the timeshare buildings were converted (very well) from some of the hotel buildings. |
