(I know that probably has been answered somewhere, but I have searched and not been able to find it, so productive responses only please.)

Sure - tons of us have gotten bonuses for both business and personal cards.

+1. Separate card products, separate bonuses.

Another question is-

Can I send a referral to my wife for the extra 5000 points, then when she applies is she eligible for the 25,000 too? ( i do have her as an authorized user on my account but she doesn't have her own SPG amex).

Also is it easy to combine our star points on spg.com into 1 acct (my acct)?

Thanks!

You can refer her for the 5K, and she will get whatever bonus is associated with the offer Amex allows you to refer (which should be the 10+15K). Her status as an additional cardholder on your account will have no effect, as opposed to her having been a primary cardholder in her own right.

If you've been registered at the same mailing address for a sufficiently long time, yes, this is trivially accomplished online. It does take a few days to process. (Starwood instituted a time requirement in the last ~1 year to respond to abuses. I forget exactly how long the common address must be in effect; a search should turn up the FT thread on the issue.)

Sounds great. Thank you.

I'm not seeing my Amex bonus points posting for spending at W Washington in November and a stay at Four Points Niagara Falls back in October. What did post was the bonus points for a deposit for a refundable reservation at Sheraton Maui which I then cancelled, in November. The rep on the phone tried telling me that the cancellation of the reservation resulted in taking back the bonus points associated with those two hotels, but I did the math and they are wrong. To get rid of me, she refused to transfer me to a supervisor and instead transferred me to SPG who obviously doesn't control the bonus points from the Amex.

I had a problem with the bonus points from Aloft Baltimore posting but a phone call solved that. That left me with high hopes for today's phone call but instead I hung up frustrated and angry.

On the referral bonus, if your wife's app is instantly approved you will see the referral bonus a few days later in your SPG account if she applied properly through your referral link.

If her application requires further processing, you will NOT ever see your referral bonus post automatically - you would need to chase it with AMEX. This happens to all my referrals that are not instantly approved.

The latter is a very annoying process. On the last one they insisted I did not referred the person. It eventually led to them open a dispute with the outcome being in my favor. However, instead of posting the 5K points as SPG Loyalty Program, they posted it as Courtesy Adjustment. I honestly detest this description because it sounds like you do not earn it. It also looks bad in your account history down the road - too many courtesy adjustments...

I have a question... When do cardholders receive their 2 stays/5 nights on their account? I just poked at my account now, and nothing despite still having the card. :(

Just pulled the trigger on getting both the personal and business spg am ex. Should arrive this week. Looking forward to getting the 50k total bonus after meeting the 6k combined spend in the first 3 months. I value my spg points at 3 cpp thus I'll take $1500. Also I didnt' realize I would get 2/5 count for EACH card to my platinum status. Big ^ there as well. Should be a burning year for spg points considering awards stays also count toward plat status. Awesome for leisure travelers like myself.

I have biz/personal and I got one 2/5 credit, but not the other yet for the second card. Not worrying yet, but has anyone who has biz and personal cards received both yet?
