Not sure who you may have called, but Starwood does not have a Customer Contact Center in Virginia.

Anyhow, the dates I am looking for are Dec 10th (when I arrive in AMM) and leaving Dec 14th early in the morning. and all I am looking for is a simple room with 1 king bed for my wife and I...but it would be nice to have breakfast incluided....can you help?
At this very moment in time and space, SPG50 is available for December 10 - 14, 2008. A towers king, smoking or non-smoking, goes for 135 Jordan Dinars per night plus tax. As mentioned previously, free breakfast is a regular benefit of this room type.

I would call the Customer Contact Center nearest you to book if this is what you are looking for.

Best regards,

Did anyone here personally take advantage of this promotion and receive the bonus points (i.e. the bonus 15k)? I applied for the card from a forum link (perhaps here and perhaps fatwallet) and understood the minimum spend to actually be a bit higher than 15k. I insured that I cleared this minimum and then waited for points but w/o any luck. I contact spg.com and received feedback to call amex. I called amex and they said they would write spg. Finally this week I received a post letter asking for proof that I had signed up under this promotion (unfortunately I don't believe I saved the application form and details).

Pretty frustrating =/

I hate to display my ignorance about this card product, but I can't help myself. My one year anniversary with this card was in July. As of today, I have yet to receive an SPG50 coupon for the new year. If I understand the terms of the card correctly, I should receive an SPG50 every year?

yes, you should. I think mine came a little after my anniversary this year. I have two of them so harder to keep track of.

Good luck finding something to do with it!

Amex no more credit line swaps as of 10/6/08!

Just tried to switch some credit line between SPG business and personal - the CSR said something to the effect of 'We're sorry, but as of October 6 we dont allow any credit line swaps between cards anymore'. I asked if it was permanent, the CSR said "until further notice"

I tried to increase Amex Starwood card credit limit, by moving credit limit from Amex Hilton card. No dice unfortunately either.

Wow. I don't know the exact day I did this (less than a month ago) but I was able to take $5,000 from my personal card and add that to my business card's credit limit.

I just tried to close one of my SPG Personal Amex cards, and asked if I could transfer any of the $30K limit on that to my just opened SPG Business Amex (with a tiny $3K limit).

Nope, no go on that either.

You could do that before October 6, 2008. No amount of pleading or elevating the matter to two higher levels of supervisors will get them to budge now. Your only option is to apply for an increase in your credit line. They WILL do that.

This is AMEX's fault. Call back and ask for a supervisor/manager. They are the only ones that can help you.

If they ask for proof, just give them a screenshot of the blank 15k application page, but they shouldn't need that and a supervisor should see the 15k code in your application/profile history...

NOTE: It took me many months and several calls to get my 15k credited... Remember, this is AMEX's fault, only call them... Calling Starwood is pointless as they have no control over bonus points for the amex credit card...

AMEX and Paypal

..has anyone heard anything about the hushhush conversations AMEX is having with PayPal?

Can you elaborate? I'm an AMEX user and PayPal hater, so I'd hate to see these two collaborate any more than absolutely necessary.

I didn't get the bonus points. I called about a month ago and after about 45 minutes on the phone they finally worked out what I was talking about - but then claimed that they couldn't do anything as it wasn't "8 to 12 weeks" since I had passed the $15k mark (it was about 10 weeks!)

Called back today and they confirmed that they should have posted by now, and raised a case to their "promotions group", who apparently I'll hear back from within 7 to 10 days.
