I have gotten Gold Elite status for several years by spending $30,000 on the Amex. From what I can see that option will no longer exist after the merger. Is that correct?

I believe the Gold status from charging $30,000 annually to the SPG Amex card will exist post merger. But beginning in 2019 you need to spend $35,000. My favorite Gold amenity was the 4pm late checkout which will be a 2pm late checkout starting in 2019. Just one more reason why my SPG Amex has been retired to my sock drawer.

Thank you, Neal.

There's a promo where you get 6000 points for spending $2K and then another 4000 points after spending an additional $1K before the end of October.

Thing is, though, this promo is unclear about whether the points awarded will be SPG points (which won't exist starting tomorrow) or Marriott points (which makes this offer fairly meh at best). My guess is that AMEX intended for SPG points but didn't really coordinate the details with Marriott, and it will end up being Marriott points instead.

This offer is targeted. It's for "points", not "Starpoints".

Please disregard

How anyone is still confused of what kind of points you're earning on August 17 is unbelievable.

After months of discussion.

Thanks for posting. As usual ... We're sorry. This promotion is only open to invited Card Members.

SPG Credit Card Nights Deleted

So I have both the SPG Amex and Chase Marriott cards. I understand that next year earnings will be capped at 15 nights (with a possible exception for the Chase legacy card's 1 elite night credit per $3k in spend). I understood, however, that THIS YEAR we would be able to double up on those earnings.

But apparently not. My SPG Amex credit card elite qualifying nights have been deleted from my SPG account. Anyone else seeing this.?

cfischer Aug 19, 2018 4:45 pm

mine are there

betterbydesign Aug 20, 2018 11:13 am

Mine are gone. As are several coworkers.

TravisMT81 Aug 20, 2018 1:13 pm

Mine are gone as well.

naumank Aug 20, 2018 1:48 pm

Mine are still there. Did you guys combine your accounts?

Hipplewm Aug 20, 2018 1:48 pm

My 2 stays and 5 nights I think are still there and I cancelled my amex card right after the merger announced you can't double up. Then I took the upgrade to the chase card.

In order to see i had to login to my spg account using my spg number because my email was the same for both Marriott and SPG, if I login using my email my results were all messed up, but logging in using my SPG number shows me my SPG balance etc.
