I stuck banners on each of our credit cards that I created using my P-Touch labeler. They detail what each card should be used for (US-only, Canada-only, no FTF, bonus categories, etc) so we don't make mistakes.

Absolutely no overlimit fees. By the way, with Mint set up (which I imagine nearly anyone reading this would have) one would automatically get an alert for a fee posting, for overlimit or otherwise.

The SPG Amex Business card comes with lounge access when staying at Sheraton hotels. But how do the hotel know? Is it indicated in the reservation because it is linked to my SPG profile? Little confused how exactly can I utilize this benefit of having the biz card.

I've only tried to use this once (about four months ago) and the front desk guy had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Eventually he gave me lounge access I think largely to shut me up. I wasn't mad or anything, certainly, but I was trying to jog his memory about the benefit and he definitely was not aware of it. He kept thinking I was trying to get lounge access via my SPG Gold status, and he didn't understand what I meant that there was a credit card that would confer that access.

The front desk staff will know if the member is eligible for the benefit by checking the reservation.

Understand that it has been some time after your stay. If you could provide us with the reservation confirmatino number via private mail here or by email below, we would like to have SPG Hotel Coordinators to follow up with the hotel on this benefit.

United Airlines is an exception. If you use the Direct Deposit feature Starpoints transfer 1:1 to UA. If you accumulate Starpoints and manually transfer to UA the ratio is 2:1. (20,000 = 12,500)
To my knowledge Direct Deposit applies only to points earn at a hotel. Credit cards and other bonuses post to the SPG account, and are not automatically transferred.

Newbie question about SPG please
Hi,
I was just accepted for my first Amex SPG card, which comes with 25,000 miles after $3K spend in 3 months...a pretty standard offer I understand.
I then looked up a few W hotels that I am interested in staying in, and each one required 30,000 points per night.
So I found a Sheraton that is only 7K points a night. Will they let me use 21K points? (7K for three nights in a row) to do my whole trip, or do you find restrictions when trying to use points for several nights in a row?

For the AMEX SPG trip delay benefits, Does it also apply to award tickets in which I only charge the associated taxes of the award ticket?

If I understand correctly that your card is issued in Canada, you may find this thread helpful, although it is primarily about the more expensive Platinum Card:
