For those who have the personal and business, did you set up a separate user ID or were you able to use the same one?

All under one user ID works fine.

I just signed up for the Business card with the 25K bonus two weeks ago and AMEX said "no" when I asked them (over the phone and via chat) to match the new bonus. Not great customer service.

This is a marketing decision, not customer service. I freely chose to apply on Monday for a 25,000 point offer. A deal is a deal.

Enjoy :)

Got an Email from *W about the deal just now ... sweet offer to get in w/ a nice bonus and ultimately transfer to my Marriott account later in the year.
I see nothing wrong with signing up ... if Amex draws the short straw at the end of the year the account will close (and I already have the Chase Marriott card) ... in the unlikely event that Amex will survive then I will need the card anyways.

annual fee went up?

Just got hit for $95. What is going on?

Went up last August from 65 to 95. There is a separate post about AMEX SPG card.

yup - cancelled mine

AX's last chance to pick our pockets before Marriott and their Visa take over.

I wonder how many SPG members have already cancelled their card? When things start heading south, I'll be done with mine.

OK, I promise that I searched for a significant amount of time both here and the general internet before asking this question: I signed up for the AMEX SPG last week and received the card today. According to the website, my next closing date is 3/15. If I don't spend the full $3k by 3/15, does that add another month before I'll receive the bonus, or will the bonus hit when I reach $3k even if my statement hasn't closed?

It can, but what do the terms of the offer say? American Express tends to award bonuses to new customers according to the terms, but to accelerate them for established customers.

Thanks - guess that was a pretty obvious thing to check. Terms say 8-12 weeks after threshold, nothing to do with statement dates. I'm a relatively established customer with their other products, so I guess we'll see.

My experience has been that the bonus points appear on the American Express account first, then post to Starwood a few days later. No connection to the statement cycle.

Is it still the case that you can close the SPG Business card and then reapply and get a new bonus?

How long should you wait between closing and reapplying?

It used to be 12 months closed before you could apply again for the bonus.

Now it may say "if ever had". So be sure to read the offer carefully

I just got 500 points for booking on mobile. Anybody have the details on this promo?
