Sorry if this has already been answered, but can you buy Amex gift cards (say for $1,000 with $3.95 fee from americanexpress.com) and have that count toward the spending requirement? Thanks.

I am interested in AMEX Business card for Sheraton Lounges. Would lounges in Four Points hotels (by sheraton) be included? Thanks very much.

No. Four Points by Sheraton is an entirely separate brand from Sheraton.

Log in to your account and order a new one, say the old one is damaged. Free UPS overnight shipping.

Well, finally got the stays and nights credited. Took two calls.

Here is the problem. I already had 4 Amex cards and Amex needed to have me drop a card. So, they wanted me to call in after i applied.

It appears when I was going through this manual process that they misplaced my SPG number, so they decided to generate a new one for me and not tell me about it.

Called Amex, who transferred me to SPG. SPG kept insisting the 2 stays and 5 nights were already credited to my account. Not sure why they couldn't figure out if I'm concerned about stays I may have more than 0.

Finally I tell him I'm expecting it to say 24 stays instead of 22. Then he asks what my account number is.

Case solved.

Frustrated Amex would lose my real number and generate a new one and not tell me.

Frustrated SPG wouldn't see if they have someone by the same name, address and email address in their system when AMEX forwards them SPG card info that is brand new.

I don't think the OP meant it as a insult. It was meant to mean that it's free WIFI when you are NOT at the hotel. Sure everyone travels differently but it's just an perk to have access to free internet w/o wasting data or even you need to use tablet/laptop. You won't always be at the hotel.

Gosh, that was a while ago, so I'm not sure of exactly the exchange...but I think my comment was not that it was an "insult", but rather that it's a little myopic to think that everyone on Flyertalk is exactly the same, i.e. a road warrior who IS tied to his devices every minute. And believe me, when my husband was working most vacations WERE spent getting faxes and phone calls (yeah, it was that long ago) so I do empathize with those who can't completely cut the ties with work. Luckily we're not one of them anymore.

LOL. I hadn't even realized the date.

However It's also a generational thing. I am tied to my devices but only for personal reasons. Never ever work. Same with most people around my age amd younger. With limited data now on mobile devices, people are always looking for free WiFi.

Not sure depending on age, but that's right. Also if you are on business, you would not care as the expenses for the roaming would be covered.

For personal use, it is important factor, outside the hotel, to see map, find restaurants, city guides etc. Or upload to social networks...So I appreciate this free boingo especially in the conntries where it is difficult to obtain SIM for visitors.

Yes, not everyone is same though

Really? I care because I own the business, but people I know who are on expenses are accountable for exercising good judgment.

This is so true... I'm responsible for approving expense reports for my team and I'm known to deny certain expenses on expense reports even though the expenses were made with corporate CC.

Good judgment is the responsibility of my team. I trust them and I'm fair with leeway's here and there too... But... we all have to CYA's in the end!!

With that attitude, you better not care about your job either, because you won't have it for long.
