The explanation I got for why parking was being charged for was complete BS. "Because guests from other hotels were coming over here and parking in our garage, so now we have to do this." OK. Then why not just put up the gates but leave parking free for guests of the hotel?

I also recently stayed at the Renn (another non casino prop) which I got a much nicer room at, and also the Cosmo which I had a wraparound suite (but had to book that..) - we all know how that place is on upgrades (non-existent - they play by their own Bonvoy rules totally).

Had been a long time customer of the Westin going back several years! I can't even count how many times I have stayed there and never have received an upgrade. No biggie for me as I am usually solo 2-3 times a year and wife attends another time . I used to really like this place for some reason ( I know others hated it ) but it was perfect for me then......free parking (handy when I was golfing and had a car rental for a few days); used to have a small "happy hour or two" that provided wine / beer and small munchies; I actually liked the little casino and status was at least recognized a little bit.
Now I found over the past several years that service has diminished drastically and nickel/diming on everything. I tried out the Renaissance for the first time a few years ago and actually really liked it. Maybe I lucked out but great recognition to a nice suite; really enjoyed their breakfast as they allowed one day at the restaurant and the rest in the lounge which I am fine with for breakfast; gave me a handful of tram passes that we used. Location is not the best but not bad.

Stayed this past weekend May 14-16.
Redeemed two 50K certificates that would otherwise expire soon.
Requested SNA to "executive suite." Hotel was very full and did not get SNAs but was upgraded to "Premium King, High Floor, Strip View" night before arrival. SNAs returned to account.
Note: the available SNA "Upgrade" awards included non-suite high floor rooms (including the one they gave me for free) which I did not include in my SNA selections.
As of this writing Las Vegas is opening up: the governor issued revised mask guidance during my stay but most hotels still had Covid policies in place.
Breakfast buffet at Jake and Eli's was not open.
Three items on the breakfast menu for Jake and Eli's that are currently free with the Platinum+ breakfast amenity.
Due to covid, cleaning service is by request only. Did not have much service interaction but requests for extra bottled water at the front desk were routinely granted (we did this probably 5 times each day).
Resort fee is $32. For an elite the main value (if you value this) is a daily "whiskey tasting." Westin LV has a special bourbon blend made for them - I think by Elijah Craig?
They were serving old-fashioneds in the afternoons both days, along with a savory snack (bar snacks, and premium popcorn). When there wasn't a line I saw a couple people nab a second drink.
The old fashioned itself was quite good. I'd skip it and keep resort fee if I had the choice though.
Our room was clean, had a nice view, and the hotel was pretty quiet despite being quite full. It looked to be cleaned and well-maintained inside overall.
Out back the parking area looked a little the worse for wear. There seemed to be few cars in the lot.
The bar was small but had lots of TVs for watching sports. Looks like they had a good selection of bourbons in particular.
I noticed the bar had a cocktail smoking chamber which intrigued me but never got around to testing the mixology skills of the staff.
Pool was small. Skipped it.
The location was better than it appeared at first. It is walking distance to the strip and we discovered with a little exploration down Linq lane by foot you can get to the Venetian and Harrah's in a few minutes.
This turned out to be nice for us given the shortage of cabs and ubers due to covid.
So for basically $72 bucks and a couple of certs that were about to expire I feel like I got pretty good value. Not the premier "Vega$" experience but seems like a good value and I'll probably stay there again.

I was there over the weekend and will not go back. The doors are thin and you can hear everyone who walks past your room.
They charged me the resort fee and refused any compensation to cover the internet and bottled water. They said I had free breakfast but when I checked out they said I should of been given coupons that were only good for a few select entrees. Seems like the manager needs to be replaced.
Lifetime Titanium Elite seems to mean nothing to Marriott anymore. Now, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has published “advance notice of proposed rulemaking” to outlaw “deceptive or unfair acts or practices relating to fees.”

Where was this breakfast offered, in the hotel restaurant? How did you get the full breakfast? I see others in this thread have reported only getting a choice of 3 entrees
