I wonder if the Starwood Lurker could help please?
The night I want to book here (Nov 13) has "Traditional" rooms available for cash but not points. Checking further, there are two traditional room types available: accessible king and accessible double; neither have any view specified.
The Platinum line said that the hotel was allowed to black-out reward availability because it was a resort hotel. I said that sounded like a new policy if true. After consulting someone else, the agent said that a traditional non-accessible king has to be available.
I'm surprised to see a differentiation between accessible and non-accessible and between king and double when deciding when a reward night is available in a standard room, especially since the revenue rate for these categories is the same. Is this correct policy, or have the room rates been loaded incorrectly?

The standard rooms attached to SPG6 award at this hotel are Traditional room with King bed and Traditional room with 2 Queen beds. As both rooms are not available for 13 November, 2015, you could not redeem a free night award for this day.
The Traditional Accessible rooms are not attached to SPG6 award.

So....just to stir the pot a little here....
This "policy" basically implies that even if a traditional room is available, disabled guests are unable redeem an SPG6 award for an 'accessible' room?
This seems to be asking for trouble.

What do you want to know specifically? Sunday buffet was great. Room smelled musty. Booked cheapest room on corporate rate which had no view and was upgraded to ocean view as a gold. I don't think I'd return to key west unless I was forced to - its just too touristy, makes me think of NOLA

Leaving Starwood later this month - to be rebranded as the Margaritaville Hotel

Very sad news - whilst not the most luxurious hotel, the location can't be beaten and I've had some excellent stays there.

Well, let's get this year started. Last year I had a stay at the Aloft Miami Beach, and I ended up doing way too much to get my deposit back. Seemingly closed up in the middle of the night and had nothing to do with SPG going forward. I do hope I can get points, nights and a stay out of my July '17 booking.

I just spent time over Thanksgiving at this resort. I thought I would definitely return on my next visit, now I will have to rethink that as I prefer receiving/using points for my stays. Maybe Jimmy Buffet will start a loyalty program?
