I have a one night stay at the Four Points Miami Beach tonight and I'm starting to get anxious!!! Thanks Cheap Elite!! :D Will report back on my experience when I get back. Did just notice that they had pre-upgraded me from the Deluxe Room I booked to an Executive Suite. Will see if it sticks. Hopefully one night is not so bad...then off to the Renaissance Eden Roc for three further nights in the area. (just had to get one *W stay in to help with Plat. requalification)

I was going to wait until I got back so I didn't have to try and type a review on my iPhone but here it goes. This place was the worst Starwood hotel I have ever checked into! When I walked into the lobby I thought....this isn't all that bad. I then got my room and everything changed. Room was dark, dingy, musty, dirty looking and worst of all a freezing meat locker! I turned the AC which had been set at the lowest possible temp and highest possible power level off. I tried to switch the unit to heat but it blew more freezing air. A call to the front desk and they brought up an old crappy room heater which didn't work properly. Since I had just gotten over a cold I decided there was no way I was staying in this room and freezing the entire evening. Decided to go to the front desk and check out and go to the Renaissance Eden Roc one night early. Front desk manager didn't seem overly suprised by my desire not to stay. Let me check out without any issue. Never again and I would recommend all FT readers to avoid this dingy place like the plague! Room at the Eden Roc is clean, bright and very nice. Missing out on SPG points and stay credit but it's well worth it.

Oh...now you want to listen and tell peeps not to stay here? Ummmmm.

Lessons learned here:

1. When Cheap Elite says "do not stay here" he means, "do not stay here!"
2. CE mentioned in his review that the lobby "looks" nice but the rooms are dumps
3. CE mentioned that there is no individual "in room" heating/cooling
4. CE mentioned in his review about the use of space heaters. This is S. Florida, W T F?
5. When Cheap Elite writes a review.....you better take his advice!

Cheap Elite is 100% correct and I guess I figured that YMMV as usual and it was only for one night. My bad! :) this place needs to be tore down.

I am staying here for one night tomorrow. I wish I had reviewed these posts prior to booking but it is what it is - and rate is 100% prepaid and I'm too cheap to walkaway.
My question is, despite the dire condition of the property are there any 'resort' type limitations of this property that would prevent me being entitled to a 4pm check-out (I realize I will probably want to leave sooner but I have a late flight!)? I am a SPG Plat.

Now its gonna take another 10 yrs till CEs EGO gets back down to earth and we will never hear the end to "I told you so..." CE just kidding its gonna take 20 yrs :p

I just enjoy reading all the negative reviews on this thread. It's comedy gold that keeps on giving and giving...:D
