I don't know how ppl still go to that motel. I sayed at the St. Regis Bal Harbour for 204 per night where the Four Points at that time was around 160 per night (Really!!! 160 per night!!! at this dump), only 45 USD difference.

Anyone know where has CE gone to? Or KENNECTED?

So is there any updates on when reno's will be completed? Something definitive would be nice because we'll be in the area around new years and the W is way over priced...

HA! Unsolicited acknowledgement!! THANKYOUVERYMUCH! ^^^

This dump is getting another "renovation" it seems this place is always renovating something, yet the majority of guests have the same experience - terrible!

Good Experience!

Hi all, I used a FWN to stay at this hotel last week-end, just prior to going on a cruise. I completely concur with the compliments on the location - it is THE reason to stay at this hotel.

The lobby, food, pool and hot tub and beach location were primo.

We were greeted with a complimentary upgrade to a 1 BR suite with a balcony overlooking the pool and the beach. Spacious, clean and very nice.

On the down side, the A/C drips as the HVAC system looks like it was installed when Moses was a baby. Therefore some wet carpet, but hardly a deal-breaker for me.

Had a comp'd breakfast/Plat amenity the next day (continental only, though - which I thought was cheap).

All in all, pleasant stay. I would repeat. Not sure if all rooms have been reno'd, but mine looked spanking new, though I think they're nuts doing any renos until they've retooled their HVAC.

Well, in fairness, most of us can tolerate (and even somewhat enjoy) a marginal hotel for a night before a sailing.

I've stayed at airport Fairfield Inns, for God's sake, before a cruise.

BUT, that doesn't make this an ideal property for what most folks come to MIA beach for -- what is, of course, a vacation.

I'm pleased that this property is stepping up to the plate with long overdue room renovations. That'll go a long way. But it can't change the reality that it's still a Four Points and that the pool is still going to be WAAAY too small for the number of guests when this place is running at full house.

Best case scenario: this place is a Four Points Hotel, folks. That means it's essentially a Quality Inn. It's not trying to be much more than that. Use it for a night here and there and have reasonable expectations and you'll survive. But don't plan a week's vacation here unless you're really a glutton for punishment.

I stayed there in the busy winter season, last winter, and the pool was quite empty.

Anyone have pics of their renovated rooms?

I'd give the hotel 6/10 for the area in quality but 8/10 on value based on my $150/night rate.

I was upgraded to a "Junior Suite".
