Booking
Nights available on points:
- Open up 12 months out
- Availability seems to open up five weeks out.
Fees when booking on points:
- City Tax of 400 XPF for each night
Transportation
PPT-BOB Flights:
- Round trip $350-600 per person
- Premium ticket includes more checked baggage allowance, priority boarding (sit on the left side for island views), and drink on board.
- Air Tahiti is strict with their baggage allowance. Excess baggage is $1.5 per pound over the limit.
- The airline is known to weigh hand luggage if it has wheels or is larger than your typical backpack or purse.
- If you hand luggage is weighed and is over the limit it will need to be checked or items will need to be removed and relocated to your checked luggage.
- Carry-on items do not seemed to be tagged so the gate agents do not know what bags have been checked
- If you hand luggage is weighed and is over the limit it will need to be checked or items will need to be removed and relocated to your checked luggage.
- Checked bags are weighed at the BOB airport for your PPT return flight
- They seem to not be as strict with charging for excess weight
- Lap infants are charged 10%
- Check the minimum connection time. If you arrive early Air Tahiti is likely to move you to an early flight based upon availability free of charge.
- In March 2022 the domestic security was asking that passengers remove and leave any large bottles of liquid from their hand luggage. Sealed duty free alcohol seems to be the exception.
- Tip: Sometimes it is cheaper to pack alcohol and pay the $1.5 per pound excess luggage fee than to purchase duty free at LAX.
Boat Transfer as of April 2022:
- 14,000 XPF per person roundtrip
- Children are free (not sure if there is an age cutoff)
It would be rather difficult to take the free boat from the BOB airport to Vaitape and then take the complimentary shuttle to St Regis. You would need to carry your luggage and time your flights accordingly. This would also need to be coordinated with the property.
Rooms
Renovated Rooms:
101 - Deluxe Over Water Villa w/ view may be renovated

I am booked at the St. Regis Bora Bora for 5 nights in November (11/20-11/25). I used the same promo that gives 50% off (SPG50PRO) and got a "Superior Suite" for 65,000 XPF/night.
I originally got in at the Le Meridien Bora Bora for 40,000 XPF/night so I still have that reservation.
But I am pretty sure that I will end up canceling the LM and staying at the St. Regis. It looks like it's worth the additional cost.
Unfortunately I am no longer SPG Platinum so I guess I won't be able to get free breakfast. I am SPG Gold but that doesn't seem to get me much anymore.

In a scale from 1 to 10, SRBB is at 10 for sure, while LM is only around 5 or 6. However, LM does have one upside - the Otemanu view is very good.

Rock72 - I am at SRBB right now and the hotel is simply stunning. Yesterday I went to LM to watch turtle feeding with my kids, and took a cursory look of the hotel. Honestly, LM just has nothing to compare against SRBB. The OWB is very small; the external of OWB appears to be worn out. I don't think you would get best experience for Bora Bora if you only stay at LM.

Also, do you have to go in November? It's the (very) rainy season. Make sure you take with you lots of DVDs, because you might end up trapped in your room for most of the day, every day. I don't know anyone who has ever had a dry day between mid-November and late-March, but you could get lucky.

Go to Carrefour supermarket on Tahiti and stock up on food for breakfast in your bungalow. Failing that the Chinese supermarket on Bora Bora. Just don't pay $50 per person for breakfast!

Our wedding anniversary is in November which is why we are planning for that time period. I also planned for the week of Thanksgiving so that we won't have to take too many days off work.
I don't mind rain here and there but if it rains every day all day long, that would suck.

We will be traveling with my 6 year old son. I thought he might get a kick out of visiting the turtle sanctuary at the Le Meridien.
Is it pretty easy for St. Regis guests to head over to the Le Meridien to check it out? Or is it more convenient to book a 1 or 2 night stay at the Le Meridien (and save some money) and then move over to the St. Regis?
RVD.

These two hotels are under SPG umbrella so that they share a very close tie with each other. Ironically, I was trying to book the LM turtle feeding from IC Thalasso but was told LM reached guest admission cap for that day. I tried the next day in SRBB and was okayed by LM very soon.

It is VERY easy. Generally, SRBB will drive guests to LM and LM will drive guests back, completely free of charge. You just need to let SRBB concierge know when you will go to LM (turtle feeding starts at 10:30 AM).

Am on night 1 at St Regis bora bora. Upgraded to premier OTW bungalow from superior otw (2 room upgrade). My suite cert was denied but I called in and was informed of my nice upgrade one day in advance. Upon check-in, I was offered breakfast, 500 pts or a "statue". I chose breakfast. The lady taking care of us for our stay went to check whether that was just for the continental breakfast or full one. Turns out that the hotel somehow upgraded our stay to breakfast inclusive, ie. I was free to choose another plat amenity! I chose the statue, since this is a once in a lifetime trip. When I got to our room. 750ml of billecart-Salmon champagne was waiting for us, same brand as what park hyatt Paris offered to diamonds. So full breakfast, champagne, local gift + 2 room upgrade when the hotel was fully sold out. No complaints there!
One complaint was that at 150pm, I asked front desk whether out room was ready, they replied that it was ,but that rani, the lovely lady taking care of us was busy and that she wouldn't be back for another 25 minutes. I asked whether we could go to the room ourselves and cathc up with rani later but was told no because she had to show us where everyone in the room was (thank you but I think I recognize an outdoor jacuzzi when I see one!). Small disturbance to an otherwise perfect start.
Went to lagoon restaurant by Jean georges on first night. Sat out on the terrace. View is simply stunning. Food was very good (not quite ny Jean georges, but is actually quite a bit cheaper in bora bora, ironically). Definitely worth going to at least for one night, considering it is really not much more expensive than other bb options, but is really quite tasty. One complaint is that the service was rather quick, contrary to the normal "island time". Appetizer, main course and dessert were served inlessthan 80 minutes, and we were never even offered the wine list (granted a bottle of billecart was enough for me, since my wife can't drink much).
I asked about visiting LM bora bora, and was first told it would cost 5k per person to go there by boat. I was then told by rani that I would be transferred for free, but I would have to buy lunch there to get access to turtle feeding. I was also told by the concierge that it would cost about 8k to visit four seasons. Prices seem a bit steep considering how close those resorts are. I could literally swim over to them! In any case, not going over to those if I actually have to pay such a hefty fee.
If anyone has had success in the past getting to either resort for free would really appreciate the tip!
Few more days here and will have more to report back on pros and cons of the resort (e.g. Breakfast, dive tours, lagoon cruise). I anticipate most of these to be positive at this rate!

i would definately say a week is about the right maximum time before you start to get a bit bored
btw BORA BORA is AMAZING. we stayed at the Intercontinental Thalasso.
Why not combine with a few days on another island ?

We stayed seven nights at St. Regis and three at Intercontinental. After a few days it is quite challenging to find anything to do as there is no place to walk to from either hotel. Dining also becomes problematic as there are very few choices at each hotel. Transportation across the lagoon to the main road was free at IC, but a fortune at St. Regis, so there is more freedom to roam at IC. I don't really remember the details, but I would definitely inquire about current cost of transportation across the lagoon.
