Reached Ambassador level...
... now what?
Specifically, what's the recommended way to interact with the ambassador when I have a request? Email? Phone?

Uh, good luck?
Probably easiest to look within your online account info or one of the phone apps.
And there is always FlyerTalk.

Either way, I wouldnt expect much. There are a few FT who have posted about stellar treatment, but most of the stories point to a deteriorated service.

Congratulations! Call for any time sensitive issues. There have been anecdotal postings here of emails taking a long time to be answered, and then not answered in any helpful way.

I never thought Id hit Marriott Ambassador.
Ever since they lowered their spend requirements Ill be underwhelmed but prepared for lackluster service throughout 2022.

I reached it last year for the first time during the pandemic and have already requalified for next year with the lower spend requirements.
Prepare to be completely underwhelmed. So far I have found zero difference between Ambassador and Titanium.
Emails actually were answered more quickly as a Titanium than Ambassador - but I've only sent once since last year. Phone calls are answered quickly and they usually handle my request and/or call me back when it's been handled.

Ambassador is just a fancy name for regular customer service on the phone where you dont have to wait on hold for quite as long...

Ambassador is ABSOLUTELY NOT worth the time or money beyond Titanium: with the bespoke service annihilated, glaring inconsistencies in service levels and lack of guest-accessible perks, I recommend that one should divert all their effort towards attaining secondary status with another chain like Hyatt or Hilton. As countless others above have said, don't expect much and keep your expectations [very] low.
Marriott must know at this point what many think of their highest tier, and I continue to find it utterly bewildering how unperturbed and detached they are from it... but it does tie in nicely with their corporate culture of "owners first."

Methinks Marriott management never liked Ambassador service with associated costs. It was a legacy from Starwood and Covid provided a good opportunity to modify it. Ambassador status is just another label beyond Titanium now. It does look good when you show your status on Bonvoy app.

Welcome!
I'm a lifetime Titanium Elite (and have had Ambassador status since it came out) -- and don't see any difference as Ambassador other than them greeting me as such. Sad -- I know

Update:
I emailed my request on Monday mid-afternoon. Two days later, no reply yet, but I did get a survey this morning about this request asking me how it was handled.

Ambassador level is barely a shadow of what it was designed to be for members. Your emails and calls will go to a customer service group rather than an individual. Your24 will actually work 1 out of 18 attempts, SNAs will never clear and you'll be given the room type you booked, 70% of the time.
I have been a platinum member for 21 years (earned EVERY year), was a platinum premier and now currently an ambassador (likely gone for next year) and I'm a lifetime titanium member. I am looking into giving Hyatt an honest effort (only because I really have never tried another hotel's member program before).
I still really enjoy Marriott and I have over 1.3mil points in my account. Basically, if you have titanium, don't expect anything from Marriott from a loyalty standpoint above and beyond that level.
