Wrong Membership # when Purchasing Points?
Was topping up my account with 4,500 point purchase for an reward. However, I realized that the entered membership number had "15" at the end instead of "51" (should be 51) after I completed the transaction.
I didn't get the confirmation e-mail either, though there is a pending charge on the CC.
What happens now?

I called and the CC people said they cannot "cancel" a pending charge, especially a legitimate one.
What I really find annoying is that Marriott let me go ahead with the transaction with a WRONG membership ID despite having my full name. I mean, why bother asking for my name IF you ain't gonna verify the name against the membership ID before allowing my transaction to go through?
I kinda assumed that if the membership ID doesn't match the full name, the transaction wouldn't go thru.

Hi SkyElite,
If you'd like to send a Private Message, we'd be glad to help. Please provide your full name, Marriott Bonvoy number, and the following information:
Date of Transaction
Exact Dollar Amount of the Transaction
Credit Card Type and Last Four Digits
Thanks,

I'm not surprised the validation doesn't happen in real-time, on-screen. These are likely old systems just doing data capture. Someone will likely find the error while it's being processed.

The mistake you made was with Marriott, not the credit card company. You should call Marriott, not the credit card company.
