Marriott Geographically challenged
I have noticed recently that Marriott seem to be a bit geographically challenged. Just got a marketing email promoting how Bali awaits me, and I am one of the few aussies that have never gone to Bali, so I am wondering if they perhaps are now into carbon copying hotels, as the picture used is remarkably like the one for the Westin Langkawis home page

Meanwhile the Renaissance Shenzhen has moved a few kilometres according to its map - amazing feat!

If you put in a "from" location to get driving directions, the To address is correct. Marriott can't control how Google renders an address on their map.
As you didn't post a photo of your marketing email, it's impossible to comment on the first part.

Or are you suggesting that Marriott provide their own maps of the world, rather than use standard ones?

Of course Marriott can control what google does, by simply asking them to fix the error!

On a more general note, it's also possible the hotel and/or Marriott doesn't know the map is wrong. It's unlikely that anyone from the hotel ever looks at Google Maps. (They already know where the hotel is located.) Unless someone reports the problem to them, they can't fix it because they don't know it's wrong.
Although it's not your responsibility, perhaps you could take 3-4 minutes to notify Marriott of the error via the website. You might be helping future guests find the hotel.

Gosh, some years ago, we here in the Marriott forum were calling Marriott "geographically challenged" for a completely different reason:
Some agents were telling people that some rate or something was not valid in San Francisco, because it was only valid at US properties.
So that's what I was expecting when I opened a thread saying that Marriott was geographically challenged...

I'm off in a couple days to Costa Rica, where street addresses pretty much don't exist. It's one thing trying to figure out which hotel is conveniently located, it's quite another simply trying to trying to figure where a given hotel is actually located, when there is no street address.
