My 7-night cat 4 is still showing August 1st. My second shot is estimated to be that week at the moment, so it's not exactly reasonable to expect me to travel without having had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated.

It’s been confirmed in the extension thread that these will be extended. See posts 86 and 88. Just be patient.

SNA did not get extended. Still showing 12/31/2021

Would an extension to Jan 3/22 have made a big difference? ;)

Maybe....for New Year's Eve trips ??

:D

Wasn't really a complaint about it. Just an observation.

I'm well aware, thank you. I'm just sharing a data point. Some have been extended, it seems, but others have not.

Mine have all been extended, albeit I wish said extension was for a touch longer. In the case of these 7 night TP’s the last date to commence a stay is 26th Dec which rules out travel over the back end of the festive period, I guess this was the intention. It is what it is I guess. Who knows what the next 6 months will bring...

Counsellor May 7, 2021 9:24 pm

Mine were extended.

CosmicGirl May 8, 2021 7:38 am

Mine was extended overnight, too. Now, to wait for someplace we're actually allowed to go.

Exactly, and for a week! It is much easier to use FNA’s in these difficult times, if need be, however more difficult to use a Travel Package.

Anyone with recent data points on a new TP with air miles deposited to United?

It has been well over 24 hours, and I haven't seen them post to my United account yet.

Bump on this.

It has now been 5 days and United miles still have not posted. And "Ambassador" team is useless, as usual.
Pretty sure these were almost instantaneous in past redemptions...?

Off topic, can it still make sense to order a new style TP? I assumed the value didn’t make sense compared to a straight points to miles redemption.

I still find value, though less then before they raised the points to redeem.
But depends a lot on if you are able to utilize the 7 night hotel certs with your travel patterns.

Straight transfer to United - 300,000 Marriott points = 137,500 United Miles.
Travel package redemption - 330,000 Marriott points = 110,000 United Miles PLUS the 7 night CAT 4 certificate.
Travel package redemption - 390,000 Marriott points = 110,000 United Miles PLUS the 7 night CAT 5 certificate.

So for an additional 30,000 Marriott points, you get a CAT4 - 7 night hotel stay, not limited by peak rates, but 27,500 less United miles.

Standard 7 night hotel stay at a CAT4 hotel is 150,000. So savings of 120,000 Marriott points (and 27,500 fewer Miles)
Standard 7 night hotel stay at a CAT5 hotel is 210,000. So same savings of 120,000 Marriott points (and 27,500 fewer Miles)

Are you sure your math is correct? I think it should be 300,000 Marriott points = 137,500 United Miles ( 60k*5->25k*5 = 125k plus an additional 10% bonus for United, 125k * 1.1 = 137.5k)

Not sure where you are pulling your numbers from, and math is certainly not my strength....

Straight transfer of Marriott points to United Miles as at the rate of 3 : 1.1
So 300,000 points would yield 110,000 United miles.

Not sure what the relevance of "60k*5->25k*5 = 125k" is, but always willing to be educated. Is there a different transfer scheme?

There's a bonus of 5k airline miles for every 60k Marriott. So 60k Marriott=25k airline miles. Plus a 10% UA bonus as a preferred partner. So skimthetrees is correct.
