Whilst far away, the JW Marriott Dubai is roughly 100USD per night during Ramadan in May
I'll be in the Ritz Carlton for a decent 150 per night - both great properties, but I am there for business and guess too far away for you

When I lived in the Detroit Metro area, there could be very cheap hotels in the surrounding suburbs, or close to (but just outside) downtown.
Warren, Troy, Dearborn, Livonia, etc. Perhaps close to DTW.

DC when Congress is out of session can be painfully affordable, but that's also down to the Congressional calendar. December is a steal. Not that such helps...

I've stayed at both the up-thread mentioned Deadwood SHS and RCSD FF. The SpringHill is nice, they may try to charge for parking. It's attached to Cadillac Jack's Casino. The Rapid City FF is a dump. Largely devoid of decent food options. It's attached to Watiki Water Park and an LQ.

I've seen the Marriott Key Bridge in Arlington, Virginia, for $75-$90. I haven't seen anything actually in D.C., as opposed to Virginia, for under $90.

Someone who can fly nonrev?
However, I'm surprised that in this case, the OP doesn't care about the cost of local transportation, with properties offering free airport shuttle service having a big advantage. A long expensive taxi or Uber ride would negate any savings on hotel room rates. Similarly, if OP doesn't quality for elite free breakfast, food costs could make a difference, with preference to places that do free breakfast for all.

Courtyard DC/US Capitol was $76/night for six nights over Christmas ($75 for four of the nights, $78 for two of them) plus tax. The total bill came to about $530 with tax included.
