What Marriott should have done is make the status levels be indexed to the commodity market. So when gold is higher, the formerly lower status members get an unexpected boost.

Bonvoy Dynamic Status - coming 2020!

I eagerly await Cubic Zirconium level as the lowest tier.
At least they didn't call it giraffe level.

Are you sure it's titanium and not carbon fiber?

Bonvoy? Took me about thirty seconds to acclimate.

Yes, that's all it took me to get used to the naming. What a bunch of whiners on this forum. As Platinum Premier I feel I am treated VERY well as a customer of MerryOtt. Everyone is always very gracious and appreciative of my business and bend over backwards to be helpful. I don't understand the lengths people go to for 'freebies' and whine and moan and complain if they don't get a bottle of water or a deep French kiss from the concierge. Lighten up. Jeez.

There have been a few good things and a few bad things in the merger. But there's a campaign to make every change seem bad. I'm not sure if people want sympathy or just to vent, but attacking things like "Bonvoy" or whether Titanium is a more precious metal than Platinum seems silly and childish to me. It's just names. If they had used Premier 1, 2, 3, etc. The Premier 1's would argue that 3 is a bigger and more valuable number...seriously, you can complain about anything if you try hard enough.

The complaining about stupid things actually makes it easier for Marriott to sneak in changes none of us will like, since they serve as a nice distraction -- what's one more negative thing when there are already "so many"?

Titanium is a harder metal than platinum (6 on the mohs scale).

Sure you can spin that a bunch of tacky Courtyards, Moxy and Springhills are boosting Marriott's overall numbers, but the loss of the above higher profile properties is significant and not to be dismissed.
You forgot Le Meridien Tahiti, but thanks for this list. I am sadden to see Hotel des Indes on there. I had a stay there back in May before I popped back to London for a wedding. It was an amazing hotel. It's a shame SPG lost so many great properties since the Marriott invasion.

It'll be a 777, so a mix of both. I wouldn't want to fly it if all the titanium bits were replaced with gold
