Although I would love to be able to jump out of my OWB, like we do Bora Bora, I confirm that Le Meridien Chiang Mai is my favorite Le Meridien at this time.
Watching the Loi Krathong lanterns fly away from our Diplomatic suite was again a very nice experience.

But, the service that we got in the lounge was definitely part of that good feeling that makes us like the hotel.

LM Philadelphia. Lovely building in a great location (especially if you can get a City Hall view), good staff, nice lobby bar and a good example of the LM Concept.

We had a very good stay at the Vienna property. We loved the location, the friendly staff, and our spacious contemporary room. The hotel upgraded us to an executive Suite for our 7 night stay. Will definitely return on our next trip to Vienna.

My favorite Le Meridien is Barcelona. I love the location just off La Rambla & a couple of blocks from Plaza Catalunya. It’s hip and modern with an Illy cafe in the lobby & a couple of free coffee coupons in your room. I’ve received suite upgrades when I’ve asked for them upon checkin as an SPG platinum. And I love the generous and delicious full breakfast buffet (with cava) that I’ve chosen as my Platinum welcome amenity.

LM Taipei is definitely one of the best LMs if not the best one.

Ho Chi Minh City

LM Saigon is at the top of my list. Also, Shanghai
BTW, I believe the Parker in Manhattan is no longer a Meridien.

The renovated rooms are great [although why they removed the tub for an enlarged shower in a spacious bathroom with wasted space is beyond me] and the property-wide renovation project was supposed to be done by late 2015… but here we are at the end of 2017 and there’s no sign of it ending.
With the current GM, service is horrible.

I had good memories at most Le Meridien hotels in Thailand:

- Plaza Athenee, a Le Meridien hotel, is now a Luxury property.
- Le Meridien Bangkok, my home in Bangkok for many years, many stays and many nights (a bunch of them in the 2 big rooms), but now on hold, until there is a middle management change, which hopefully bring us back to the traditional loyalty recognition, for frequent guests at an "Elite" level, at this property.
- Le Meridien Chiang Mai, which is not what it used to be - far from it - and will soon become a Marriott.
- Le Meridien Chiang Rai with its nice Grande suite.
- Le Meridien Koh Samui, with its unique design.
- Le Meridien Khao Lak, for its relaxed atmosphere and family clientele.
- Le Meridien Phuket with its beautiful beach, but with a clientele that could behave in a better way, at least the last time I stayed there. The rooms & suites were far from being impressive.
- Le Meridien Suvarnabhumi with its nice architecture and well designed suites. I recently tried to book a night, for a stopover in BKK, but the hotel is under renovation until the end of January 2023.

In France, I recently stayed a couple of times at:

- Le Meridien Nice, where I liked the "Elite" recognition, the location, the level of service and appreciated how well the hotel (and its rooms/suites) is maintained.

In India, I can only recall one property:

- Le Meridien Jaipur where we had been upgraded to the Presidential suite. It was so large that it was a real task to find items that we had left here and there.

Ah, a creaking old thread from 2018 resurrected like an long-dead Egyptian mummy.

Can I ask what your issues are with Le Meridien Bangkok right now? I was back there in early Feb almost exactly two years since my last stay. I've been back 4-5 times since at my regular schedule (okay, I'm now living in Samui). I've been treated extremely well and acknowledged extensively as a long-time regular guest (for more than 8 years). For me, the only drop has been the list of cocktails at creative hour for elites... which is made up for by the improved canapés offering. They looked after our cat very well when we brought her on our escape from Asia's Alcatraz Hong Kong. I still really wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Bangkok.

I'm glad that you did not see any changes, besides the list of cocktails during the creative hour.

I had completely forgotten that I had started this thread, then I saw "Original Poster".
It was interesting to read the quick reviews I posted almost 5 years ago.

Have only stayed at one Le Meridien (the one in St Louis), but have been hoping to stay at more (I have a stay booked at the Stuttgart location). The one in St Louis was very good. Very refreshing, great nautical theme, very reasonably priced, with great staff, but a bit away from the city centre (though some may like that).

Update on the Minneapolis location: it's no longer a Le Meridien, it's an independent. I visited a friend who was staying there once, and it was a great, quirky hotel.

Luckily, the posts on FT are here to remind me of my past life.

I stayed one night at this property and there was nothing noticeable that helped me to save this hotel in my memory.
Sometimes, it's the staff that makes the difference, but when the service is not up to standard ...
