Hey just checking here for any recent stays? Looking at both the new Hilton Hiroshima (Y12880++, I'm Diamond) vs. this Sheraton (Y20,000++, I'm Titanium). Seems the Sheraton wins on location, they seem equal on gym/pool, but Hilton gets excellent reviews for its lounge offerings and breakfasts. Not much info post Covid for this Sheraton. If anyone else has stayed here and can report, please do. TIA!
In the evenings you can either hang out in the club lounge or you have the option to enjoy the hotel bar (Including drinks and appetizer) as a benefit for plats and above. I think the club lounge is open for an extra hour compared to the hotel bars bonvoy benefit and you can't do both on the same evening. It's nice to have the option/choice at the end of the day imo.
Overall I really enjoyed this hotel and easily rate it well above the Marriott and Sheraton in Tokyo as a comparison.

There was no charge to use the pool at the Hilton when I was there in Golden Week ( not too busy at 5pm) ( also there is a sauna and steam room). Gym open 24 hours. The sheraton would beat the hilton for access to the JR station ( the hilton is 20mins walk from the station) but the hilton is close to Peace Boulevard and is a nice walk up the boulevard to the Peace memorial park. Hilton lounge is on the 22nd floor.

Otherwise my reason for returning (as a tourist) is due to location - being right next to the train station/Shinkansen (and connected via a covered walkway) makes it really easy to get into/out of Hiroshima, and for doing day trips. We did a day trip to Tsukushima-jinja on Miyajima Island easily with a direct train to the ferry terminal. And getting around the city is very easy with most tram lines terminating at the station, and the sightseeing bus loop lines starting at the bus station too.
Whether it is worth double the Hilton is however subjective - it isn't walking distance to the sights so you will need to take public transport. The Hilton doesn't look to be that close either though so you'd be taking a taxi from the station to get there I guess.

Thanks for the replies! So, the Happy Hour is supposed to be nice at the Hilton but food is not, so just a nice view with drinks. I like the idea of some drinks at bar/restaurant in the lobby (?) for Titanium at the Sheraton.
We will either do 1 or 2 nights (very full Japan trip plan!) and the current idea is to do Miyajima and Peace Museum, which would be fine for one day based on past experience. If we add Mazda Museum we could do 2 nights there, but then only one night (or none) at Naoshima. Hmm....Seems the Sheraton has good connectivity.

The pool is Y1650/person.
I arrived for check in at 14:20.
Was told, "check in is at 15:00. Your room is ready."
I was then asked, "would you like me to check you in now?"
I politely accepted.
Breakfast is Y3900. At check in I was offered the price of Y3000.
No thanks.
I can go to the grocery store for Y500.
I'm just gold, so no lounge reports from me.

The Sheraton Grand is a fine option for the only Bonvoy hotel in Hiroshima, a city that I found enjoyable for a couple of days. Here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
Cons:
As the only Marriott option in the city, you dont have much choice if wanting to stay with Bonvoy in Hiroshima.
Photos (please expand the Spoiler tag):
Pros:
- Upgraded to a Club King on the top floor - there were no higher room types available online
- Bed was comfortable - plush top on mattress, plush pillows, plush covers
- Shower pressure was good, and wand was easy enough to control
- View towards Hiroshima and nearby mountains was nice
- Great welcome gift - really tasty chocolates of assorted flavors, and no hazelnut!
- I found the club to be pretty nice - the chocolate cake at dessert for both nights was quite yummy, and the Nespresso coffee was good (note that the bar benefit still exists, but I did not try it)
- Breakfast is still offered club or restaurant - I only tried the restaurant - very good omelets, decent pancakes, fantastic orange juice, good breakfast fish, potato offerings both mornings left something to be desired
Cons:
- No late checkout due to fully booked status on day of departure - I chose to not argue as I had a long train journey post-departure anyway
- The washlet on the toilet was not satisfactory and did not seem pressured enough to accomplish anything
- The window and window sill would get heavily wet from condensation over night
As the only Marriott option in the city, you dont have much choice if wanting to stay with Bonvoy in Hiroshima.

Same, can't like, but thanks!
I stayed here last November and enjoyed it. Very nice property and perfectly located at the train station and within walking distance of most everything. I'd definitely stay there again if I was in town.

Had a two night stay here in February. I work for Marriott and stayed using my discounted rate.
Hotel is in an amazing location, right at the train station. Hotel is very clean and modern. Room we had did not have a very private bathroom. Was traveling with a friend and not a romantic partner so a little awkward. Shower and toilet doors are a pretty transparent and the sink is a little awkward too, see the photos. Something I would expect at a W, not a Sheraton, but still the room was modern and nice.
Lounge was okay, good selection of alcohol and tea time was pretty good. Breakfast was great, buffet was very delicious with a huge selection of eastern and western foods. Will definitely return if ever visiting again.

I stayed here two weeks ago, and this was a really good perk for me, and anyone else travelling with kids, as a lot of Japanese lounges ban children during happy hour (i.e. 5pm onwards) - so nice to confirm that it has been maintained. The full breakfast offered by default for elites was tasty and included an omlette chef offering a local oyster omlette amongst others.

At the same time, the website also describes the same room as having two double beds in the select room page, including under the room details. In my experience a double is much bigger than a twin.
Can anyone confirm which size bed we would get? The call with the front desk was not helpful with this question.
