The Sheraton Grand is a fine option for the only Bonvoy hotel in Hiroshima, a city that I found enjoyable for a couple of days. Here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded to a Club King on the top floor - there were no higher room types available online
- Bed was comfortable - plush top on mattress, plush pillows, plush covers
- Shower pressure was good, and wand was easy enough to control
- View towards Hiroshima and nearby mountains was nice
- Great welcome gift - really tasty chocolates of assorted flavors, and no hazelnut!
- I found the club to be pretty nice - the chocolate cake at dessert for both nights was quite yummy, and the Nespresso coffee was good (note that the bar benefit still exists, but I did not try it)
- Breakfast is still offered club or restaurant - I only tried the restaurant - very good omelets, decent pancakes, fantastic orange juice, good breakfast fish, potato offerings both mornings left something to be desired
Cons:
- No late checkout due to “fully booked status on day of departure” - I chose to not argue as I had a long train journey post-departure anyway
- The washlet on the toilet was not satisfactory and did not seem pressured enough to accomplish anything
- The window and window sill would get heavily wet from condensation over night
As the only Marriott option in the city, you don’t have much choice if wanting to stay with Bonvoy in Hiroshima.
