spoiled?

LMAO, its 200 points, take it for what's it worth, 200 points extra.
Jeez, I know I am a whiner but this thread might be the best thread ever.
Anything extra is nice, 2 bottles of water and 100 points per night would be awesome.
I stay so many nights consecutive that this is a wash for me, how bout 100 points per night bonus for the idiots like me who stay 5 nights per week every week.

Under View Marriott Reward Activity, find the hotel stay you are trying to verify. It will show the breakdown of points:

For example:

Base Earnings
Platinum Arrival Gift Bonus
30% Elite Bonus

New platinum arrival gift at FF?

I just checked in two days ago at a FF in Exton, PA and the check-in associate asked me whether I wanted the points or snacks. I didn't know that FF is now offering points as one of platinum arrival gift options. She said it just started this week. Is this only for this particular FF?

down with water

Put me in category of not a fan of wasteful plastic water bottles. I'd like to see at least 1/2 as many points as a FS hotel (250+) but 200 points is better than the nothing I get now.

Give me a break. What percent of Marriotts are located somewhere where the tap water will give you cholera? I drink tap water at home, I can drink it in a hotel. 20 years ago nobody toted plastic water bottles everywhere and I don't recall people dropping from cholera or dehydration.

I'm pretty sure you're post shouldn't even be dignified with a reply.

But being a good sport:

Do you drive a car? -> When public transit isn't available (and/or carpool)
Take showers? -> Yep
Eat meat? -> Yep.

And yes, bottled water is very wasteful in several ways. Just because that's the case it does not mean I mock those that utilize them or criticize Marriott for offering it as a perk.

Hi PhillyPhlyer40,

I'm sorry that you weren't offered the new Platinum arrival gifts. Which Courtyard did you stay at?

Best regards,

Drew

Platinum arrival gift at Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, Etc.?

I am staying at something other than a full service or Courtyard Marriott for the first time since becoming platinum. At this Residence Inn my status was not recognized at check-in or since.

I was wondering if there is suppose to be an Arrival Gift at the lower tier Marriott brands? I've searched the Marriott website and this forum and cannot come up with any specifics. So is there typically any arrival gift and if so, is there any cash reimbursement guarantee at these brands?

Towneplace Suites
Springhill Suites
Fairfield Inn
Residence Inn

Yes. It used to vary, but now you are (supposed to have) the option of 200 points. At RI, FI, and SHS I most often found the "gift" in the room...water & cookies or trail mix most often

I have had no issues with the new procedure, except at a recent RI stay; where my experience was the same as yours - no welcome speech, no gift - nada.

Perhaps RI is exempt from the new program? DREW/MARIE - is this the case?
