In calling a hotel to find out if breakfast coupons are provided on the weekend, who should I speak to? Should I just ask the person that answers the phone, or ask for the FD, or whom?
Also, I assume breakfast would be available for all guests in the room, not just the Gold or Plat member?

If there isn't & you decide to call the property, ask for the front desk. Say something like I noticed your exec lounge is closed on the weekend. Can you tell me if you provide breakfast coupons to (Gold or Plat) members? Some will say no, some will say yes. If it's no, that's compliant w/ Marriott T&C so not worth complaining. If it's yes, you can ask if it's for member only or more.
It's rare for brekkie to be provided to all guests in a room. Some will do the member only, some will do the member +1. More than +1 is very rare.

3/8/13 update, still applicable "healthy start" only, nothing hot except for oatmeal, 1 coupon per day good for all members of your party.
FWIW pretty much the standard fare as every Concierge Lounge less the eggs & bacon and quite tiresome by the 5th day. However, I feel the same even with the full Marriott breakfast buffet and not a huge fan of breakfast to begin with...

Dallas Marriott Suites Medical/Market Center, lounge closed on weekend. Free breakfast buffet for Plats and Gold by signing ticket and adding room number. Standard breakfast buffet with omelet station that also makes French Toast. 03/09/13

Renaissance Grand - lounge still closed on weekends, although they have significantly stepped up their offerings during the week; free parking for Platinums now gone; going to wireless throughout hotel very soon
Union Station - can be removed from list as is now rebranded as a Doubletree

I just called (3/13/13) Palm Desert / JW Desert Springs Resort & Spa Palm Desert and can confirm - No lounge; no coupons due to resort status; Additionally, I asked about the resort fee (regularly $27) and was informed that for Gold it is $18 (includes self-parking) and for Platinum they waive the resort fee but do charge for parking which is $15/day to self-park and $26/day for valet.
Since pretty much everyone will have a car at this location (unless I am mistaken), you are really only saving $3/day if you are Platinum vs. Gold as the resort fee includes self-parking.

Fontecruz Lisboa/Lisbon, Portugal, Feb 21-24. No lounge, but breakfast coupons provided for Plat/Gold (plus guests in the same room) in the restaurant downstairs, both weekdays and weekends. Excellent egg tarts, BTW.

Concierge lounge on the 9th floor is open 6:30 to 9:30 am and 5:30 to 7:30/8:30 in the evening, the typical Sunday evening to Friday morning. Access is by door key, and it works all day if you need water, juice or teas.
My family is usually not impressed by concierge food, but were pleasantly surprised by good tacos for a dinner, and eggs/meat choices in the morning. Breakfast meat choices varied each day. The girls tried everything including the oatmeal, which they loaded down with brown sugar and berries. Met with their approval.
Dinner another evening was Italian sausage, lemon chicken and an antipasto tray. Jelly bellies are scattered in bowls around the lounge. Food is very good for a lounge.
The best news of all is that Elizabeth still works mornings! She greets each guest, brings silverware, newspapers and drinks to the guest table. Incredibly poised and professional. My family went up one morning when my granddaughter was not in a good mood. Elizabeth listened for just a moment, and brought her a cup with Cheerios just for her. The two year old got quiet, ate her Cheerios and asked for more with a "please". Not sure what Elizabeth thought, but my daughters were thrilled that the CL attendant had such a great attitude. Robert worked the one evening I arrived before they closed, and is very professional and a great conversationalist.

This hotel is no longer part of the Marriott family. Ceased to be a REN in OCT 2012. However when we stayed a weekend in Jan 2013 we were upgraded to the Elite Zone which included executive room, free wifi, breakfast buffet. wine, beer and food offerings for 3 hours in the evening. I was told they are looking after Marriott Gold/Plat elites.
