Ditto, I received a 10K and a 4K order in a very odd collections of boxes ranging from $500 to $2500 per box.

Also worth noting the UPS guy left the 14K on the doorstep without a signature. I live in a quiet neighborhood but that is a little disturbing.

"in process" order delivered

I had a 10K order delivered today, however, when I check the order status online the order still indicates that the order is in process and hasn't been shipped. Also, my credit card has not yet been charged and show that my credit line is available. Very strange, anyone else seen this?

Going from past postings, you will get an email, and you will get a bill, and you will get a package... sometimes not just in the order you'd expect.

I've got a President coin order from last Friday that went to "in process", so for all I know, it could be on the truck today.

I get the impression from the posts that they are closing up for the year, and down to the corner of the warehouse. They see an order for $Xk, and start assembling boxes into that order (such as returns, or pre-packs?), and throwing on labels.

Shipping Costs

Out of curiosity, I just looked into how much it costs to ship from the zip code the mints shipping department is in to my zipcode in Chicago. For a 47lb box, nextday air is $84.66. That comes out to be 3.3 cents per dollar to ship.

Hopefully the mint receives a huge discount...

Almost a work-around

So, I was looking at the 'old' link for the N/A $1 coins:

https://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...egory_rn=27238

Just for the fun of it, I change the product number from 14692 to 14693.

Try it, and see what you get!

Interesting..........I tried placing an order, but it zero's out on the last page. I submitted it anyway and this is my confirm e-mail:

Ship To: XXXX

Order Process Date: 10/28/09

Merchandise :
Freight . . . : 4.95
Total . . : 4.95

1. NATIVE AMERICAN $250 BOX $1 COIN (N01)
Qty 32 @ $250.00 - Product not available.

I wonder if I'll get a $4.95 charge for shipping me nothing now. On the Mint site when I look up my order # it shows it's been shipped. They are really fast when they don't actually have to ship anything.

Are we really that bored that we have to place an imaginary order while waiting for our real order to arrive?

No you don't have to do anything. the back office will decide if they want to close your accounts or forward a SAR or CTR to the fed's.

You're fine - what you're doing is all above board, there should be no repercussions
