could you let us know how long it took BofA to shut you down? with that volume, im curious how long it took. did it take more than a year?
oh my bad. i misread. it was TheGreatMongo however, it looks like you also got shut down for MS simon and cycling. appreciate the DP. same question though. could you let us know how much MS/mo (assuming its over 20k/mo) and for how long before bofa to shut you down? ive been doing 5k simon/mo on just one card for about a year now. im thinking of stopping or doing less because i dont want a shutdown. always thought 5k is super low, but thats just me. wondering about your experience. im sure in your case, bank bonuses, MS 20k CL + WMBP + going over CL is all part of the reason. |

My CL wasn't 50-100k. it's much less.... cycle monthly around 20x my credit line and lasted for appx. 14months. shutdown likely due to year-end review of accounts....

There's no way to cycle 20x without bill-paying your card below it's credit line, creating negative balance. I've cycled many cards, and the fastest turnaround without bank holidays is 3 days, so you can do 2x per week if you just pay only after charges hit the balance. Force-paying it into negative balance territory using BPs is a big red flag with every CC bank. WF used to shut people down for that before they even caught on to the 5x gaming, for example.

haha, well feel free to send me a PM. My lips are sealed. I'm genuinely curious how to cycle 20x except for the method I'm thinking of.
I've stoped MS for 2 years as I don't like going to Wal-Mart! |

Is Moneygram a "financial institution." Technically, any adverse action against a consumer would have to follow the ECOA? That would mean receiving notice of a "specific reason" for the "adverse action" along with other provisions? I used this when Citi shut me down and I settled for a good sum. Just a thought.

1. SHUTdn by C1t1 (Credit card & checking/savings)
2. Length of account before closure and CL? Credit card was open for 15 years 3. Average monthly account balance checking and savings? $15k for bonus 4. Volume of ms per month and how many months? ~$300k MS per month for 3-4 months 5. Cycle CL? Yes, CL was $25k, so cycling 10-12x a month 6. Did you BP using both options? No BP Lost ~$1400 in cashback. They said my checking/savings was closed for "business activity on consumer account" - impossible. The ONLY transactions on the account was direct deposit from my real job. They refuse to give me reason for closing my credit card, they only point to the terms that say they can close my account anytime/any reason. Any way I can get my lost cashback? |

Uh it wasn't Amex. Read my #1 . And I know MS/Cycling is the reason. That wasn't my question at all...

I have to ask here as well, how did you cycle 12x a month? Citi usually posts charges on 2nd day, so if you don't do BP, then you can at best do 2x a week. Unless you were calling them to overpay using debit cards?
|
did they contact you beforehand or did it just happen without contacting you?

More info on Citi please! Citi closed my doublecash credit card / checking / savings because I was doing heavy MS on the doublecash. But that's not the reason they gave me. They only pointed to the terms and conditions that said they can close my account for any reason. I lost $1400 in cashback. For my checking/savings they said it was closed for "business transactions on a consumer account" but the ONLY transactions on that account was direct deposit from my real job.

This is just a case of pigs get killed but hogs get slaughtered. I would give Citi a call. However, don't expect a warm and fuzzy response to your request for the $1400. However, your bridge is burned at Citi, so a phone call never hurts. |
