What makes you think that? What happened?

This happened to me quite often. I think that they do have quantity limit restrictions. If your account has ordered the same or similar items many times and then your order a new one, you may receive this message after the new order is canceled. I do not think you need to worry. The account is not blocked (at least, this is the case for me). After several days, you can try to order the same item again, and the transaction might go through smoothly.

Ok that’s a relief. I think I’ll give it a break for a bit then. Does Amazon seem to judge limits based on the ship to address like WM or BB? Or is it the account only. Reason is both the canon and Mario switch game , qty 1 of each, were cancelled even though I had never ordered them before.

To me it would seem that I had either hit a limit for the product at that ship to address or, a limit on high demand promotional items in general for my account only.

I guess this is what makes me squirm in my seat.

One is basically giving a complete stranger several hundred dollars (in merchandise) and presuming that this entity is going to pay you back :o

All is good until it isn't and then you are out your money. And given that this game is one of single digit percentages for profit, one loss of magnitude wipes out weeks or months of work.

I enjoy reading about it but it is just too dicey for me. :( I hope your concern is not validated by future events and that you are made whole.

I don't see why you are squirming at all, you made it clear on just about every page of this thread how you feel and that you don't/won't participate.

So its like reading a scary storybook for you I suppose.

There are enough data points to determine which group(s) to buy for or not. I only buy for one.

I hope its much ado about nothing too.

That is because according to some, there is little to worry about. Yet the flotsam of extinct prior buying groups is all about us (and just because it's not gift cards now but rather electronics means nothing)

The Plastic Merchant Website Is Gone & With It Your Records

"The Plastic Merchant is a gift card reseller that a lot of people in the miles/points community did business with. Unfortunately after briefly bouncing checks a few times before, about a month and a half ago things went bad quickly."

Just because a site or person(s) say that they're good doesn't mean that they are.

And there is a history of these sort of sites going belly up with the MSer left holding the proverbial bag.

The nice thing about internet chat sites is that you can take what you want and ignore the rest. That does not mean that others are not going to discuss what you wish to ignore.

Bernie Madoff was really really great at making you money.....until he wasn't. :o

Happy ending, I did get paid today after quite a long wait. Luckily this time I was only waiting on $2k.

If this happened a couple weeks ago when I sent them $14k in electronics I woulda really been sweating.

My point is you keep making the same tired point page after page, You aren't a buyer, no problem, you can sleep easy, follow your above advice

EMBDeals experience:
Timeline: Ordered kindle 5/3, delivered 5/4, marked scanned and received by EMBD on 5/5 (about 30hrs later), received a receipt at the same time, requested a check 5/6, received the eCheck 5/7 (about 24hrs later). Overall a really smooth experience, they are responsive over whatsapp and try to scan within same day or next business day. Deals posted over whatsapp, out of the box website app with no FAQ but it's all self explanatory. Cheers

The biggest way I bypass the restrictions is living in a tax free state. So if I can get the right price at a B&M store, I can generally scale it pretty quick but this only works if the buying group will provide shipping labels.

Which buying groups provide shipping labels?

MYS closing a bank account and telling everyone outstanding checks from that account will bounce. Not exactly a promising development.

You're cherry picking from their communication. Here's the part that you ignored:

"*If you already deposited a check, it WILL clear, you need not worry*

*We should have our new account up and running in the next few hours, and new checks will either be sent this afternoon, or immediately after the Shavuos Holiday, May 19th*"

So they are just changing accounts, and will have new checks issued using it. I don't see a problem with this.

imnion May 17, 2021 4:50 pm

Why would they not open a new account and leave enough in the old account for all outstanding checks? This move suggests they had to make the switch very quickly for some unexplained reason. Excuse me for getting a little spooked when a random warehouse I sent tens of thousands of dollars of electronics to abruptly decides it needs a new bank.
