Yeah. The reload is cash only making it useless for MS

It says 2% back and free reloads at Albertson's locations, but I'm betting there is some major fine print in there. It's a Netspend product.

Everyday Select Rewards Visa® Prepaid Card
Just perused that fine print and of course this language exists "no ATM withdrawals, international transactions, account-to-account transfers and additional loads."

That's all the fine print you need. Good luck not getting banned within a month if you manage to do any meaningful MS on it.

I got a VGC from Jewel but part of the card number were scratched off so I can't use it at all. Called the phone number and hopefullly getting a replacement card.
How can I prevent this from happening? I carefully checked the VGC package and seems pretty normal.

Was at my local Safeway affiliate today shopping for food, decided to dump a few 500 Vanillas as well.

Was surprised to see a newer WU rules sign that explicitly mentions "gift cards with pin" as one of the allowed payment. Never seen this before at any other store of that chain.

It has always been allowed per the policy, but the policy was not publicly published until now because Western Union didn't want to pay for the signs.

that is good for you. would you please upload a picture of the sign?

the lady at my local said debit card linked to banks only.

VGC's are linked to a bank (Meta, Pathway, Sutton etc.), so unless your lady wants to visually inspect your card, you can honestly tell her that your card is linked to a bank and swipe away without guilt.

I'll try to take a pic, but not like the sign at MY store will convince your cashier. I just found it surprising the sign explicitly mentioned allowing gift cards, not just any debit cards.

This could definitely be helpful to a lot of folks. Back when the Shaw's in my area started selling SSVGCs they earned Shaw's reward points which made it quite a lucrative buy. The only issues I had were the stores in my area were insisting that you could only purchase one SSVGCs per store per day, despite Shaw's official policy which was much higher than that. I was able to contact their corporate number and after some bouncing around they got me to an individual whom agreed that they were in the wrong and that they would contact those store managers to make sure the gift card purchase limit signs where displayed and that the store managers educated their employees on the proper limits. Within a couple weeks the issues was solved and I haven't received any push back since.

Hopefully these new WU signs could have the same effect for liquidation.

Yea, like that has ever worked once they see "Gift Card" written on there.

All the WU signs near me say bank issued debit card with PIN. Once they see "Gift Card", it's game over now matter how much you explain it has a bank name and PIN.

same here in my area 😕... if a explicit sign displaying similar to 'littlewinglet' post, it'll be easier if cashier says no
