This was noticed end of January by many here. I keep trying once a week as part of my random MS trips.

I'm referring to something else. I'm aware the SS Cards no longer earn points. I'm talking about using the earned rewards to pay for groceries and get a discount on a gift card purchase also. The rewards are not discounting gift card purchases, only the grocery amount.

That part was always tricky to get to work. Worked for me earlier this week, maybe they tweaked something.

Tested a few accounts now and same outcome. Have $50 in rewards on 1 account. Bought $21 grocery and $500 visa. Only $21 rewards applied to purchase whereas in the past the other $29 would deduct from cost of visa. I guess this is how it was supposed to work in the first place.

You are always going to need to buy groceries. It is not like they are taking the awards away from you. They are only restricting their use to legitimate purchases, which at major grocery stores encompasses a whole passel of items, just not gift cards.

I am not certain how this is all that horrible.
