Summary of Supported Payments by Card Brand
https://support.plastiq.com/s/article/supported-payments-by-card-brand

Official word from Plastiq regarding Visa Business cards that was asked which was previously thought it applied to only Visa Personal cards
Plastiq is unable to support mortgage payments on any Visa credit cards. This is an industry-wide mandate that affects all third-party bill payment services. Please note that mortgage payments are also unsupported for credit cards issued by U.S. Bank or Capital One and AMEX.

Plastiq Fees:
Standard Plastiq card payment processing fee is 2.9%. This puts most of the credit cards out of the reward range. Plastiq turns itself into a niche position to earn new card bonus or status threshold. Some CCs may still work.
It makes most of the reward programs not profitable. Use Plastiq to meet welcome bonus spending requirement or to meet certain spend requirements to reach elite status or for large spend bonus. Also take advantage of Plastiq referrals and promotions.

Delivery Fees (The Plastiq Ch. 11 restructure now added some delivery fees):
ACH/EFT/Electronic $0.99
Paper Check $1.49
Wire Transfer: Domestic/International $8.99/$39

This is the thread for 2018 and forward. The previous discussion can be found here.
Updated Nov-2018: A lot of the personal Visa CCs can't be used at Plastiq. Some will be treated as cash advance and won't receive any rewards. Only Capital One personal Visa CCs are not affected. Business Visa CCs are still good. The best CCs are Mastercard and Discover. AmEx CCs can still be used, but not on many of the payment types. Chase personal Visa cards are limited to the cash advance limit (typically 20% of CL). The details are listed as below:

Plastiq Referrals:
Standard Referral: When you refer your friend to Plastiq, after your friend charges $500 or more, your friend will get $500 ($0?) FFDs (fee free dollar) and you'll receive $1,000 ($100) FFDs to spend.

All personal prepaid Gift Cards (GCs) are disallowed. Not sure what "business" gift card can be used.

Successful Credit Cards Used (Posted as Purchase, Visa info outdated)

I noticed that my Alliant Visa is no longer earning any cashback on payments made through Plastiq. It was a nice way to float the money on payments before. Even with the 2.5% Plastiq fee, I would still recoup that with the 2.5% cashback on the Alliant Visa. But, now it doesn't make sense. Anyone else notice this? I didn't get any kind of notice or indication from Alliant; I just did the math on my latest statement to figure out that the Plastiq payments were now excluded from earning any cashback.

Are you sure they're still being processed as purchases (rather than as cash advances) on your Alliant Visa? If they were processed as cash advances (rather than purchases), that would automatically explain why you wouldn't get cashback, I presume.

And in recent times, Plastiq has been doing stuff like that with some Visa cards:

Plastiq: Changes To Visa Personal Cards (Some Cards Coding As Cash Advance, Some Limited To 20% Of Credit & Others Unaffected) (DoC)

Plastiq previously said that Alliant would not be affected, but maybe that changed recently?

I imagine that card issuers (once they are aware of Plastiq) would be the ones trying to exclude Plastiq from earning cashback in this scenario, and that Plastiq doesn't have much power here.

No, they are included as purchases, but they don't get cash back any more. I believe they changed something over a month ago. On my statement from last month some of the Plastiq payments still counted and some did not. But, on this month's statement, none of the Plastiq payments counted. I didn't notice it last month because the amount was smaller, but this month it was more easy to see because the amount was much higher.

I am interested in using Plastiq to finish the minimum spend on a Chase Visa card (the Bonvoy Boundless specifically). The credit line is $24K and I have about $2K to go to earn the sign-up bonus. From what's been said here it seems that I should be able to do this, does it sound right? I might not earn Marriott points but I'd be OK with that.

I follow the instructions to set up 3 consecutive payments with MC card. It still shows 2.5%, not the 1% promotion fee. Anyone has similar?

I did the repeating payments also, but noticed that it was still 2.5%. The email states "Low Plastiq 1.0% fee will be applied automatically when the payment is processed. The last payment must be processed by 11:59 p.m. EST on August 31, 2019." From the wording, seems like it will show 2.5% but apply the 1.0% when it goes through.

For me, I saw the 1% fee at the submit payment screen. The payment schedule that plastiq also reflected the 1% fee.

I didn.t see the 1% either so I did a online chat with them & they changed fee amount to reflect 1% instead of 2 1/2%.

When I used the (grey) $200 MCGC purchased at Staples, I get 1% fee. But when I used the MCGC from GiftCards.com, it shows 2.5% fee. What is going on?

The 1% is an error. System thinks the staples GC are bank debit cards. Enjoy it. (I am) Gift cards (even though they are debit) are supposed to be 2.5%.
Regarding the promo, I was able to put 3 separate payments for 1%. After that they all show up as 2.5%

I do not think it is an error or not. Plastiq tries to tell the Debit vs Credit from the range of card groups. But often time it is wrong. When I try to link my PayPal Business DC, all places consider that card to be a credit card, not a debit. But it is clearly a debit card.

Same here, I've been enjoying using GC from Stop & Shop. Just finished maxing out the 5% on the Freedom, working on the 4% on the Gold Card. Even after the GC/Plastiq fees, I'm still coming out ahead.

Got them to change it to 1% - guess scheduling a series that goes past the last day of their promotion (even if the first three are within the promotion period) causes issues.
