Dear XXX,

We like to keep things safe and secure, including your PayPal account. To do this, we regularly check the activity on our customers' accounts.
We're not sure you're aware but it appears the MyCash has been used for deposits to your PayPal account, and then those deposits have been withdrawn.

The MyCash feature is for making deposits to your PayPal account for retail purchases.

If we continue to see this activity of using the MyCash with your PayPal account for cash withdrawals, we may have to limit or close your PayPal account.

If you think we've made an error, here's how to contact us.

Click Contact Us at the bottom of the page.
Click Send us under Email Us.
Follow the instructions to complete the steps.
We value your business and appreciate your attention to this matter.

Me and wife got same emails. Been buying PPMC cards, loading and withdrawing. Been doing this for last few months. Guess will transfer money between us and then withdraw.

what other options? PPBDC? I don't have a biz, Is it easy to get this card?

This is the trigger. Stop doing that and you should be fine.

Without PPBDC you will most likely be shutdown w/ PPMC loads ...how else will you liquidate!?!

ACH withdrawal = shutdown and xfer -> withdrawal is still risky (how many times can you xfer the majority of your PPMC loads to the same person/people before PP says NOPE).

RJ5929 Oct 9, 2014 1:55 pm

So, PPBDMC (-> MOs) is the only option?

No, spending is the option. What you spend it on is your decision.

One account each, and $4K per month? I am curious as to the role volume (or account abuse-- i.e. opening multiple personal PP accounts) plays?

Yes, mostly MO/BP, do you have the link to new PP terms on MO?

thanks.

Are you buying money orders? I think PP changed the terms to imply you shouldn't. If not, what other purchases do you make? Maybe POS cashback?

It was posted here, but it isn't actually new. These have been in their T&Cs for quite a while now.

Wait... You loaded up $3000 BEFORE having an idea on what you had to do to get it back?

I was able to load $1000, purchase $300 and then withdraw the rest $700 in one month without any issues. But I never done this kind of large amount before.

Hint: no need to get waste your (probably nonexistent) Serve card limits. Just find a walmart or kmart or whatever, and learn how to do a Billpay or buy MOs.

Well, we can expect a shutdown post sometime soon, and how Paypal is holding on thousands for 180 days....

Hint: go get a Serve Card, and find a Walmart nearby.

I got the same email across all my accounts (and parents'). I have been doing this for a few months and this is the first time I got the emails (again, all my accounts on the same day).

I have a system of sending and liquidating, and have never load and withdrawn. I always mix a little bit of real spending, eBay transactions, and MO through Walmart or grocery stores. So the "load and withdraw" thing doesnt apply to me.

My main account has been open since 2002, so even the older accounts are monitored. Again, the fact that ALL my accounts (6+) got the email makes it seem like PayPal is starting to monitor even more carefully now.

Also cashback at grocery stores, walmart, and others for debit card purchases.

commdiver Oct 10, 2014 3:17 pm

Can we stop with the useless data points? Everyone who has spent time reading this thread should know that withdrawing MC loads leads to a shutdown.

GTFan Oct 11, 2014 8:33 am

Wasn't that way before, depending on how you did it. Age of accounts and other activity, transferrring before WD, etc. What we're seeing here sounds like a recent change.

Agree that it's much safer to buy MOs btw, and if they get wise to that then it'll be dead.

Lumpylump76 Oct 11, 2014 8:47 am

So as someone who Doesn't do MO, BP, or WD, have not received that email warning.
