I tried looking up "proxy server" on wikipedia. Boy am I confused. Can you give me a quick explanation? Like proxy servers for dummies?

Arrgh!

I done been Fanged. The clergy at AP have delinked my bank account (through which many a deposit poured) and are requiring me to relink it and provide a driver's license. But a driver's license identity challenge is a very poor and easily circumvented internal control.:td:

That was my thought... ha.

I thought the payment limits were by the month, but based on my payment on July 31st, I am unable to do one on Aug 2nd due to exceeding CC limit.

No, a site as popular as Amazon is validating customers by requesting their drivers license numbers and they are nuts! May startle the kiddies, but the pros will blow right past that control.

I noticed that, too. They seem to have reset for August on July 31. So your 7/31 payments were really your August payments.

In the future, but sure to finish up well in advance of month's end.

My July 31 payment didn't count toward my August limit. You should check again. They may have corrected their monthly reset glitch.

Maybe it was the time of day on 7/31. Mine still counts toward my August limit, as I was expecting.

Most companies do not need to have someone searching/looking at all the transactions and IP addresses. They have sophisticated software to do that for them. They will get flagged and someone "may" take a look at the acct to check for problems and action could be taken.

Having reading back some pages, I already notice people trying to do things that will alert Amazon that could cause them to shut it down for the rest of us. No more fee free transactions. Another FT freebie that WILL GET SHUTDOWN soon.

People use to say "Remember the Alamo", all I can say is "Remember the Mint?" and see what happened to the mint when the abuse continued.

Personally, I think this thread should be closed and locked. All the info needed is already here for anyone to search for.--my POV.

+1 ^

Or use the Damn PM system! Many of us (Me for example) would be happy to answer your questions...provided you've done atleast a little bit of research and I've had my morning coffee. :D

Let this thread die. Stop posting here already.

Started using AP last month. My first transaction was in the middle of the month. Should I wait 30 days or does the monthly limit reset on the 1st?

It should reset on the 1st, but you can check by signing in, click on My Account Settings, then click on View My Account Limits.
