Well [expletive]. I just put $1k through with Discover. Guess I won't bother with the remaining $500 on another AP account.

I've definitely seen cash back not post until the statement after with Discover so I'm not sure why one would panic just yet. Plus plenty of people have been able to call and get cash back manually adjusted on a purchase with Discover.

If your purchase is near the statement closing date the bonus may not post until the following statement.

This.

Discover is pretty good with manually adjusting for CB. Statement hasn't posted yet but if I don't get the full CB this month or next I'm just going to make a call saying the $1500 in car parts I bought from a website that uses AP for payments did not post like it should have.

What replaces Amazon payments for CC spending limit?

I have used Amz for meeting the spending limits. Now it is gone, what can use instead?

Will any of these do the trick?
Chase’s QuickPay

Allow money taken out of CC?

Everyday spending. Just buy a lot of stuff you need ahead of time and use it throughout the year.

discover card 5% back with amazonpayments in 10-2014?

I tried to test AP with $1.99 on my discover card on 10-1-2014. I am signed up for the 5% promo this quarter. My statement closed 10-4-2014. I received 0 CashBack. I have always received .01 CashBack for a 1.99 purchase in the “everywhere else” category. I am thinking this is because the 10-1-2014 purchase date was too close to the 10-4-2014 statement close date. Has anyone verified 5% CashBack using Amazon payments to send money in 2014? (I did not have AP in 2013)

If You didn't receive any cash back for Discover than there isn't an issue. The spending just occurred too close to the closing date. Until someone only gets the 1% cash back, I wouldn't worry.

I'm guessing it will be a few more days before there are any data points. Like you, anybody who did it already and had their statement close, is probably not going to see it on this statement.

Since it's not on a CR (or taking up slots for an issuer etc) don't see a pressing need to take the time to close. Unless you are worried about security.

Same here. These are still useful for meeting direct deposit requirements.

DaveInLA Oct 7, 2014 10:33 am

I'm keeping mine too, but will delete all the credit cards
