Looked into Amanjiwo but we are a family with kids so a beach is a must.
If you’re able to stay beyond Bali and want beach for your kids, you most certainly should ask to be moved to a multi bedroom villa at Amanpulo. At serious discount for the broken promises and expectations, too.

Many here have not been to the Nusa Villas with her new Beach Club and have no inkling that it is not the main Nusa ‘ drag ‘ .
See my reply pm ?
You can combine with Wana if you are adventurous enough .

FYI , GM Ernst L is still in Sri Lanka , on-site at Amans but is returning this week to Kila . Awaiting his reply to my Galla / Wella questions too besides the Kila ones . Dropping Ian W a note too .

These days the GMs tend to take awhile to respond . Am going to find out if it is some directive from clueless corporate .. along with new team ..

Puri has the new ‘ Discovery Centre ‘ for youths . Best beach in Phuket .

N’oi is fine for children too .
But Pulo has the best beach , hands down & has an under used children ‘ s area . Cannot vouch for the GM .
Some senior ones have retired or at other Amans but many long serving islanders still on team

Reservations. I emailed them earlier this week to reconfirm and they advised me that it would most likely be "closed" then got a email Saturday to say that it will be closed and they can move me to either of the two other ones.

Definitely escalate. Make a huge stink, because Aman should know better. Make a stink here, and start again in a specific Amankila thread if necessary.

Aman corporate is about to discover that this FlyerTalk audience is not one they want to mess with, just as the Cheval Blanc Randheli management learned the hard way when they handled things as poorly. Aman corporate already should have learned after the Sveti Stefan fiasco. This is becoming a recurring theme of pitiful service response from Aman after its own fails.

They should be moving you to another beach destination of your choice, and whether it be in Bali with the unusual Amanusa Villas (and much less special location) or anywhere else should be your choice. Not theirs as they are trying to frame it now. Don’t accept this pitiful response.

need to talk to management level, best initially would be ian white
ernst ludick offsite GM of kila mentioned above
shane lewis also at kila and well regarded

other amans mostly wide open >

puri - except 21 22 23 blocked out
puri books 1BR villas now
4-7BR ocean (at least) book as 2BR
7BR used to only do 4BR
7BR includes the new ones

noi - except 15 16 17 show only spa house
used to book 2BR villas

pulo - books 1/2BR villas
nusa - could ask for entire villa
(& wana for sake of completion)
(& yara)
(& nera - except feb 21 blocked)

(above 'except' may end up open)

(other bali include soori and legian)
(both of which are wide open)

Ernst will contact you directly when he is back later this week .

He , thankfully , is an Aman GM one can count on .

Really busy in Sri Lanka before flying back .

FYI , central reservations is generally a waste of time . We , AMANjunkies , generally know more as they often have not even been to any Amans .
Sometimes , connecting with them is like giving a tutorial ! Best liaise with those at a specific Aman whether GM , HM , or other team members

Thank you and he did. Explained that its not a buy out and they are closing for 2 weeks to do some major improvements. Nothing you can do in this situation I guess and he was very apologetic. He is looking into the alternatives. Appreciate your help in this FlyerEC.

I would certainly consider moving to Amanoi to be a great alternative. It does have a beach but it's not great, I would say the beach at Amanoi is really a bonus for a resort that's not sold as a "beach destination". The beach club is fabulous, however. The hard product is one of the best within Aman (IMHO) and Nicholas and Joy run a great team there. I've booked many families there with children and everyone loves it. Just know it's a long walk down to the beach but usually, you will just call for a cart to take you and bring you back. Enjoy!

could ask for at least 1 night in 5BR bay residence (behind beach club)

pulo has (~50) beachfront casita/villa ('palawan' not 'lagoon')
pulo has a second 1BR villa now, anyone know where it is?

Amankila is taking the reservations (pretty much) of people who were initially/originally looking at Amanusa instead as well.
