AmanZoe (Greece)

Looks like a beautiful resort and got details of its august opening via email this morning:
Aman's third Mediterranean resort, Amanzo'e, is set to open in just one month's time. August 2012 will see the launch of this secluded coastal retreat, situated on the east coast of the Peloponnese, a 10-minute drive from the seaport town of Porto Heli. Featuring private pools in all 36 pavilions, the hilltop resort is surrounded by olive groves and overlooks the island of Spetses and the Argosaronic Gulf beyond. Reservations available from September onwards.

My only issue is the rates which are pretty pricy when compared to the crete Elounda resorts. Having said that is anyone fancying a trip or do the rates put you off?

I was also playing with the idea of organising a flyertalk weekend event here. I doubt we would be able to get anything off rack rates but we could probably organise a free gala dinner and some superb prizes.

I have been helping out with getting hold of prizes for the flyertalk event being held at the 5* Hyatt Churchill in London 24-28th October (places still available, with over 60 rooms booked up) and I believe the prizes have helped secure a great turnout for this event, so if we could sort something similar out with AMAN then im guessing we might go a good way to filling this new hotel
see:

and prizes:

Im also looking to organise a similar event at the IC Cyprus:

Let me know if anyone has any Luxury Hotels that they feel an event like these would be suited to and that you would like to go to and i will endeavour to put a similar event together.

price123 IS organising the hyatt do, i was nothing to do with this organising, but i am helping with getting afew extra raffle prizes for her. So far £500 in baa vouchers and a lounge pass membership, but also some lux products for the swag bags. all should be added to her site over the next week or 2 (-: I have some contacts for this kind of thing (although most sponsors have blown all their budget on the olympics BOOO!

I don't think Aman will have any problem at all filling Amanzoe, just as they did not have a problem filling Amanruya this summer.

August in Greece is definitely not the best time to visit - temperatures up to 40C! May/June or September/0ctober would be better months weather wise.

I've just been looking at the photos - it's a bit disappointing that it appears to be built inland although the villas do look nice. They're very similar in style to a friend of our's holiday home - especially the long lap pool. Our friends designed their villa so that the pool could be accessed from all the rooms - it runs from an interior courtyard, then out to the exterior.

Amanzo'e is built on a huge tract of land - 960,000 Sq metres, yet has only 38 pool suites
http://twitter.com/Gallivanters/stat...77254381240322
190 full-time staff at Amanzo'e, which works out at 5 staff per room, but management thinks they could need more
35 2/4/5BR villas

857 acres - porto heli collection >
608 acres - chedi - 102 + 40 + 45 (and golf residences - 225 ?)
237 acres - aman - 38 + 35
10 acres - seafront villas - 11
2 acres - nikki - 65 + ?

how will aman fit into masterplan ?

completed to accommodate the first guests on 1 August. The construction programme was extended from the end of May to the end of June, due to additional findings of archaeological interest on the site requiring further works, which have now been completed...full team is expected to be in place by the end of July.
