I am not a fan of the hotel however the best pool in Singapore could for many be considered to be the Marina Sands.

I don't agree. Pool is better at Raffles, but that is the only thing good about Raffles. Everything else reminds me of circus. And the food was terrible at FBH ... everywhere, but worse at the bar/pool. We're veering off topic, but when it comes to Singapore pools, I make a distinction between 'hotel guests only' and 'public riff raff welcome pools'. MBS is too big and not very intimate, although guests only (sort of). FBH pool is a monster bar scene with **terrible** service.
I did not have a good stay at FBH and doubt I ever return. ... sigh ... what is wrong with this city? The hotels simply suck. I'm forever forced to choose the hotel that 'sucks the least'.
Circus atmosphere, strange rooms, and hostile employees. Good pool: Raffles
Indistinguishable from a dark cave in a first world prison: FS
Bad food. Bad service. Disco noise. No A/C: FBH
Not too bad actually: St Regis, Ritz-Carlton.
Trying Shangri-La next visit ...

Isn't the pool at the Marina Bay Sands blighted by appalling winds? I've not been there but the hotel doesn't appeal to me at all. I liked the pool at the Ritz-Carlton until it was invaded by screaming children with their nannies.

IMO - my only exceptions in this regard are gyms/fitness clubs/whatever you want to call them. Extensive golf/tennis amenities. Stuff like that. Where a relatively small hotel property can't afford to run a decent facility without being part of a bigger local open to the public run on a club basis facility. Robyn

For sure not The Fullerton Bay apart if you want to spend your night with the music coming from KuDeTa at the top of Marina Sands... We had an horrible night cause soundproofing is just terrible. Moreover, layout is not very interesting, lighting system not good and service is average. Honestly, The Raffles remains the best option in town if you search for something with style. If you're not so worried about a stylish place, Conrad provides excellent rooms and very nice service as well as MO and Ritz Carlton.

My husband and I don't gamble (I used to enjoy perhaps an hour or so of $2 Blackjack - average cost = $25 - but $2 tables have pretty much gone the way of the dodo bird). OTOH - it seems like the place is worth a "look see" just for the architecture (I'm a big fan of contemporary architecture):

Did my research (TA) prior to booking. From memory noise issues seemed to be prevalent in certain types of rooms/floors. I booked rooms/floor that would negate the issue.....
Stayed at the FS for three nights then moved over to FBH.
Did a TR on another FF forum with plenty of photos. Not sure of the etiquette with posting other forum sites.....PM if you'd like a link.

If you select FBH, which wouldn't be a good idea for my point of view, avoid absolutely all the rooms facing the bay... honestly the noise coming from Marina Bay Sands was not acceptable and it ruined my two first days of holidays in Cambodia cause I didn't sleep any second during my stopover in Singapore in this hotel and despite of efficient earplugs. This is the place I'll always avoid in Singapore...
