I think that is the Nvaranna water bungalow we stayed in. There wasn't a pool then, but it was an end unit with more decking.

I seem to remember being told by reservations that what are now One Bedroom Water Suites used to be called Navaranna Water Bungalows, although I could be mistaken.

I am a huge fan of the spa at the Espa spa at The Peninsula Bangkok, which is the most beauiful spa I have ever experienced at a city hotel/urban resort. The spa at Phulay Bay also is very nice and has a beauiful treatment suite.
I see. Thanks for clarifying. I was pleased with the Espa at the BJ Peninsula. Nothing over the top, but quite nice.

It must be tough to find spas that have entirely chemical-free products, no?

If you were pleased with the spa in Beijing, the next time you are in Bangkok consider staying at the Peninsula: http://www.peninsula.com/Bangkok/en/...pa/Facilities/ If you click 'next' you will see pictures of the treatment rooms/suites and relaxation rooms.

Good spas in general are hard to find, but Chemical-free treatments are becoming increasingly available. Many Four Seasons spas such as New York and the Geroge V in paris offer chemical-free treatments. Amanresorts, Soneva/Six Senses resorts, and some independent resorts such as Trisara are all excellent places for chemical-free treatments.

Trisara
Tokyo Pen (thanks MikeFrTokyo and others for helping me decide on this one)

I'm currently at Grand Hotel Villa Serbonelli in Bellagio, Lake Como. Are there any other worthwhile options than Villa d'Este?

Oh boy. A Dutchman fell from the SkyPark at the MBS in SIN! It sounds like you'd really have to try to get over the edge...but nevertheless...aikes...

Head over to Lago di Garda and Villa Feltrinelli? It is quite close- personally I much prefer Garda to Como. Villa Feltrinelli is extremely well regarded on this board.
