Depends on where you draw the line. Back earlier last year when they were new I remember seeing a spectacular deal for the Atlantis' suites in Dubai
(knowing the general availability of these suites I'm not sure if this was some opening special or not).

Apart from that there's not all that many high-value deals at VP, it's mostly the added amenities you get with booking through them that adds value. Though I would expect people here to gain those from Virtuoso just as well.

As a rule the good (but not great) deals are mostly in the longer (5+ nights) stays.

Personally I'd recommend Jetsetter over VP - they have better deals and better properties.

recent film shot at adlon >

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1401152/
http://www.emanuellevy.com/comment/u...ing-in-berlin/
“Scenes had to be choreographed around the normal life of the hotel, and we built our own reception desk so that real guests weren’t inconvenienced. But they did allow us to shoot in the spacious lobby, their dining room, corridors and in the kitchen, below stairs. The access was remarkable, especially for such a busy hotel.”

However one sequence involved stunts and pyrotechnics that would be impractical for the location. Instead, the production design team built a replica of the hotel’s ballroom on a stage at Studio Babelsberg, the world’s oldest major film studio, established nearly 100 years ago. They did film the aftermath of an explosion outside at the real location, and the art department created craters of debris and destruction around the Adlon exterior. The filmmakers were amused to learn that, thanks to the city’s thriving avant-garde art scene, many passersby stopped to ask if it was some sort of art installation, and who the artist was.

DavidO has us booked with Travelex for our upcoming Morocco trip. Of course, we have no actual experience making a claim! One thing you should be aware of is that political unrest is not covered in most policies....hopefully this won't become an issue for us with Morocco.

Indeed, I can't say I know anyone who has had success with travel insurance. Anyone here ever made a successful claim? If so, what were he circumstances?

Well, if anyone has, I imagine it is the people who purchase the "cancel for any reason" policies.

Christophe Saintagne: Alain Ducasse at Plaza Athénée

Jean-François Piège: Jean-François Piège at Thoumieux...weeks after the gastronomic restaurant opened, Piège unveiled 15 small hotel rooms, also located above Thoumieux and designed by Mahdavi. Checking in for the entire experience means getting to taste the chef’s homemade preserves at breakfast.
