LH917/LH772 - often late from Heathrow
I’ve noticed the LH917 (18:30 from Heathrow, scheduled arrival 21:00) is often late into FRA. I have a one hour connection onto the LH772 to Bangkok at 22:00 which is usually showing as departed on time.
Is this connection normally okay? I have the option to change to the 17:30 departure from Heathrow for a fee but will keep the booking as it is unless it’s likely I’ll miss the connection. From the wiki it looks like I don’t need to clear Security again if I am arriving from Heathrow so I am assuming it’s just a walk from the incoming to the departing gate?

I wouldn’t book a one hour connection to a longhaul flight in FRA if I can avoid it. Whether you should pay a change fee to travel on an earlier flight from LHR depends on how essential it is for you to arrive in BKK as scheduled.

Arrivals from Heathrow or any UK airport should not need to re-clear security in FRA but in reality it depends on your arrival and departure gates on the day. The BKK flight almost always departs from a B gate, which means you will have to clear transfer security unless your flight from LHR arrives at a B gate and you can enter B departures on arrival as reported by chris63 a few days ago. Unless things have changed recently arrivals at B gates enter the terminal on the arrival level and you have to re-clear security even if you are departing from another B gate. If LH917 arrives at a Z gate as it did a few days ago you will have to take the Skyline train to B and clear transfer security or go through passport control twice (into A Schengen, through the tunnel and through another passport control into B) to avoid transfer security.

Thank you for your reply. No rush to arrive in Bangkok I guess so I’m happy to leave the booking as it is. Presumably LH would handle any missed connection in the normal way - including a rerouting on another *A carrier if this is possible? I’m *A Gold with SQ if that helps anything. Just checking my options should I need to think quickly on arrival. I’ll pack a light carry-on and try to secure a seat towards the front to help my chances!

We made it. AMS FRA DFW
We made the turn even though we parked at the Hardstand that was surly the furthest from the terminal
Steady fast walk, fairly fast passport check. Gate Z22 No additional security check. We had our doubts but made it about the middle of boarding 👍😊

So it's a good idea to travel armed with any alternative routing that might suit you. Bangkok should be quite easy: Buenos Aires wasn't

FYI: Additional security lanes have been introduced for Terminal A in FRA as of today.

I usually see plenty of security lanes, the problem being half of them are closed, particulary atathe security when you come up the stairs from the bus arrival gates

If they were all open & fully staffed there would be no problems, that’s the issue in B transfer security lots of lanes not open

Either I don't know how to read the MCT table (very likely) or my connection isn't legal (though bought on a single LH ticket - by corporate travel agent not me). I thought the MCT was 60 minutes (which is exactly my connection) but the table seems to say 100 minutes.
I'm flying CAI-FRA (on LH) and connecting to GVA (on LX). Connection time is 60 minutes exactly. The FRA-GVA is the last flight of the day. The CAI-FRA flight seems to bounce between C and Z gates (at least the last few days, which is all I've looked at). The flight to GVA seems to always be out of A gates. I know that I'll have to clear passport control (I don't have an EU passport, though I can use diplomatic lanes (though I don't recall ever seeing any at FRA)) and security. I don't have checked luggage. I will be in business (so one of the first off plane and first bus, if we end up at a bus gate).
First - is this legal? And, if so, can someone help show me how to tell that from the MCT table? I assume it is (even though the table confuses).
Second - Guesses on my chances of making it? My only flight options, so I'm stuck with it, even if the chance are no good. I've got nothing to do the next day, so spending the night in Frankfurt isn't the end of the world.

Not sure if this has been answered earlier, but would appreciate if someone can answer this. I have amassed enough miles and points that Mrs. TFR and I can fly one way on LH F on our next trip to India from states. We have two options, IAH-FRA-DEL on F or fly from East coast to Munich on F and then to DEL in J. My only question is, if I fly via FRA, which FCL lounge would I be able to access? Since I have an Indian passport, going to FCL A and FCT is not possible. LH441 generally arrives at Z concourse and LH760 departs from Concourse C. However, in the last few days LH760 has been departing from concourse Z as well.
In any case, I am assuming that a limousine transfer is not going to happen. Would it then make sense to transit via Munich, even if it means that MUC-DEL would be in J.
Cheers,
TFR

Edited to add: You’ll have to walk to your departure gate from the FCL B if your flight departs from a B gate but looking at recent records it seems unlikely.
