I wondered if the OP booked this itinerary with AC. There was another query from someone who used AC miles to book Schengen to non-Schengen flights via FRA with 45 mins connecting time because AC was using an outdated list of MCT.

Hi All,
Thanks for your feedback. I did book this ticket thru LH. I wouldn't mind missing the connection, so I could use the FCT again - I will read about the liquor in the thread. My meetings don't start until the 19th. Also, this is one ticket. Not two separate PNR's
Cheers, D

SEA-FRA-BCN--FCL Strategy?
It's been a lot fun reviewing this thread and checking gate status for LH 491/1128 over the last few weeks. We finally leave this Saturday and have a 4.5 hour layover in lovely FRA. Even after all the reading (and plenty of travel experience), I'm still befuddled.
It appears likely we will arrive at B (bus), though A gate or B gate arrivals are possible.
It appears likely we will depart from A gate, though B gate or even C gate departures are possible.
Based on the probabilities, I went ahead and booked me and the kid a couple spa appointments in FCL B leaving a couple hours between the end of the appointments and our departure from FRA.
Did I give myself headaches if we end up arriving A (non-Schengen) and departing A (Schengen) or arriving B (non-Schengen) and departing A or C (Schengen)?
How simple or difficult is the transit between piers with carry on that doesn't roll?
Is it correct that we are ineligible for fancy transport from FCL B to any possible departure location since our departure is Schengen?
(I have taken an FCT stop out of the equation because our return will give us a couple hours in the FCT, with a BIO-FRA evening flight, overnight at the Sheraton and FRA-SEA the following morning.)
Many thx for your indulgence and illumination.

I posted a question about this before. I'm flying Nuremberg to Chicago via Frankfurt (2h35m layover) in three days. I've been checking the Lufthansa flight stats since I purchased my ticket, and my flight from Nuremberg always arrives in Frankfurt at: "Terminal 1A, Bus". The flight to Chicago departs from gate C16 (I know it can change).
What I am confused about is where I arrive after I'm bussed to the terminal. Looking at this map
http://www.lufthansa.com/mediapool/p...dia_697070.pdf
it says arrivals are level 1, but that's baggage claim, and I'd have to leave the non-public area. Is there actually a place where all the concourses connect, but not in the public area? Because I also found a photo album on Flickr about connecting in Frankfurt, and it seemed the poster never left the secured area. The connection looked very straightforward, but the map makes it look so confusing. I know how to read signs and I can handle long walks. I just want to know where they'll drop me off, and if it's in the public area. I don't intend to figure out my precise route in the airport from arrival to departure, but I like to have some idea of how to get around certain airports.
Any help?

You'll be dropped in secure area, or rather by a door which leads into secure area of the terminal. Since you are arriving from Schengen there shouldn't be any need for further security screening. It should be possible to connect in FRA without leaving secure area, but if your flight leaves from a C gate you may have to go through security again because of the layout of the terminal. You will go through passport control at some point.
Unfortunately I haven't found a good map of FRA showing where bus gates are and I only have limited experience of connecting from a Schengen bus gate.
As always if you follow the signs you will be fine.

You are correct. There's no limo transfer from the B FCL to a Schengen flight. From the B FCL you'll have to go through immigration (into Schengen) and possibly another security screening to your departure gate for BCN. Either take the SkyLine train to A1-42 or walk through the tunnel of horror!
The only Schengen C gate AFAIK is C1.

Whether you arrive at a B bus gate, A gate or B gate, follow the signs as if you are connecting from B22 to get to the B FCL. From A this will be via the SkyLine train. From B go through security and down one level. From the B bus gate, up the escalator, go through security and down one level.

One hour change in FRA?
Have a flight from Istanbul to Frankfurt, and then on to JFK. Sehcduled for only one hour between arrival in FRA & departure. Same terminal. Is this going to work? Will my luggage arrive with me?
My seats on the FRA - JFK route are at the back of Biz Class, Row 24, of a 747. Am I better off changing to the seats in front of the rear door in the Biz class, Row 14, or Row 4?

I think that you are cutting it too tight for a flight to USA. Depending on flight numbers, it might even be illegal MCT. I hope it is at least on one ticket/pnr. I, personally, would not risk such a connection in FRA.
I prefer front seats, but it depends on personal preferences.

Thanks for the reply. Seems tight to me. I did not book this flight - a cruise line made the booking. It is my flight Home from the cruise. Guess they don't care if I make it or not.

In that case it is on one ticket and you are protected. There are heaps of flights between FRA and JFK, so LH will take care of you should there be delay. When you arrive in FRA, go as quickly as possible for your JFK flight. 60 mins is doable, but tight.

You should be fine. It is FRAport, but that is still very doable. And it is not winter season, so the weather is not as much of a factor to be worried about.
