How to recognise the different M&M card numbers?
Hi there.
just realized, that a OS-M&M number is in one of my future bookings. It is a paper ticket, so no need to worry about problems at check in, but don't they automatically notice that numbers starting with 9920 (blue) or 9922 (ftl) are LH-numbers? Or are there OS and LH Milesandmore accounts with the same number - just to make sure, no Austrian will receive my miles ba accident, if i forget to change the number at check in...
flights are on Austrian, i need to call them anyway to get better seats

LH and OS
LH, OS, LO and some Others (Air-Dolomiti etc.) use Miles and More as their FF-System.
You may have different Card-Numbers linked to your account.
I got my SEN Creditcard, and my plain SEN-Card.
Some have old M&M or FTL Card numbers.
But each Cardnumber is unique, whether he is in Austria, Germany or wherever. So there is actually no "Austrian M&M" and "German M&M".
The Design of your Card (With or without) the Austrian Logo depends on the Adress registered in your Profile.
If it is your FF Number it is yours. It is the same Number with OS, LH...
best Regards

You are right that the initial 4 number block encodes the status.
So when climbing from Blue, through FQT to SEN, we get three sets of numbers.
When I finally got the M&M VISA card four years ago, I was given a new number - the CC number naturally - again.
I wrote to customer sevice as I wanted to have a SEN number that was not a credit card number for obvious security reasons.
Hence I was awarded an OS SEN card with my old SEN number on it. It is really cute and looks so much more inncent than the LH card. For reasons of curiosity induced stupidity, I alternately check in with one or the oher and the miles always end up on the same account.
So as the other posters say, it is one monolithic system.

LH appears to have a "customer number" for each person. The different cards/numbers are linked to that customer number. So the miles credit correctly.
I remeber a few years ago, there was somw *A promotion and you could get miles by regisering for FF number. None of the card numbers worked. You actually had to use your customer number which is on your statement.
