can someone give me advise on the following upcoming travel:

LED-VIE 9:50-10:35 OS 8702 (operated by Rossiya)
VIE-TGD 13:25-15:00 OS 727 (operated by VO)
TGD-VIE 8:25-9:55 OS 7062 (operated by Montenegro Airlines)
VIE-LED 10:25-15:10 OS 611 (operated by VO)
it is one ticket, but on several codeshares.

The first connection is no problem. What about the return? It means arriving at D and departing also Non-Schengen, so either D or C. My friend has NO Schengen-Visa, so the only way to go to C is via transfer bus. Although I travel regularly to VIE, I´ve never seen the transfer bus. Can anyone tell me where this bus leaves in Terminal D? How often do they drive? Shall my friend ask in advance (via F/A of incoming flight) in order to be sure, that there is a bus when needed?

Further, given the fact that the incoming flight is NOT on OS but on Montenegro Airlines, I assume that my friend will get limited advise by F/A on how to navigate at VIE-airport. Do you think the flight to LED will wait for the connection given that it´s the only daily flight of OS?

From my experience, these buses leave on a per need basis. Once you are bussed to the terminal, you will see the transfer bus point to your right (before climbing the stairs, next to the information counter). Sometimes you have to go to the information counter to let them know that you need to be bussed.

However, you only need to be bussed if your non-Schengen flight leaves from the C terminal. Given that this a Tyrolean flight I would say that it will most likely depart from the D terminal, meaning no need to get bussed. Look at the Vienna airport website (e.g. tomorrow's flight VIE-LED leaves from bus gate D65) for more information.

What I would check is whether Montenegro Airlines is able to issue you the boarding pass for the VIE-LED flight. I flew OS once from TGD connecting in VIE, and Austrian was not able to issue me both boarding passes even though all flights were OS operated.

If Montenegro are able to issue you both boarding passes, you should probably be fine.

@FlyingSerb: thanks for the helpful advice.
yes, usually the flight to LED should leave from D with a Fokker, but sometimes they use a 736 or 319, which leave either from C or D, so I wanted to be prepared for that.

Transfertime at VIE.

Me and mrs Cikada will arrive at VIE sunday 10/10 12:30 with OS302 from CPH and then continue with OS823 13:20 to IST. Is 50 min OK for the transfer? What´s the distance between the terminal/gates?

Our journey back home starts from CAI via VIE to CPH but then the transfertime at VIE is 85 min, so that should´t be any problem.

50 minutes will do fine in VIE. The distance between terminals in Vienna is rather short. No gates which couldn't be reached within 15 minutes (at most) of a leisurely walk.

Fco-vie-muc-lax 10/21

Hi all. I read through all the posts on this thread.. A lot of helpful information. Thank you.

I just a few additional questions that you guys might be able to answer. My first time to VIE so not familiar with the airport at all.

Using UA MP miles, I was able to book a flight back from FCO to LAX. I have an extremely short connection in VIE.

OS 506 FCO 10:30AM - VIE 12:20PM *Operated by Lauda Air
LH 3555 VIE 1:00PM - MUC 2:00PM
LH 452 MUC 3:45PM - LAX 7:05PM

Being my connection is from OS/Operated by Lauda to an LH flight, does this affect the position of the gates?

Going from Schengen to Schengen to Schengen, will i have to go through immigration and security again in VIE?

Is a 40 min really safe with this itinerary? Being that I'm going all the way back to LAX from MUC, if I miss my connection in VIE, what are my other options to get back to LAX that OS can rebook me on?

Thanks in advance.

40 mins will be fine if your flight is on time.

The only other single connect after that to get you back the "same day" is via LHR and onto NZ. It's only 20 mins laters, so I suspect that wouldn't happen.

They might book you to FRA, then to SFO on UA and then to LAX getting you back at 23:59.

What's wrong with FCO-MUC-LAX?

I'm using award miles.. FCO-MUC doesn't have availability. I wished they did.. I have a bad feeling about this...

U should be fine IF the flight from FCO is on time and on the gates ( which is normally the case) and not parked somewhere far for which a bus is needed.. Another important thing to note is to ensure your baggage has priority tag or quick transfer tag since this will be tight but quite doable..Vienna is much safer than other transit points for baggage and short connections..

ThHis is indeed a legal connection (25 minutes is minimum for OS-OS online). But the flight to ROV is the only flight on that day so you would have to overnight if you miss this connection.

if your incoming flight from TLV is not delayed, this is perfectly legal and doable in VIE.

Is there anyway to check to see of this flight usually makes it on time?

Is there a big risk of baggage not making it with such a short connection?

Inthe case of a delay would OS offer accommodations in Vie?

And lastly, I may have something's in my checked baggage which require refrigeration, if I check it through to ROV an get stuck in VIE can they somehow find my bag and give it to me for the day I'm there?

Thx
